This was one of my favorite sites on my trip to Alsace. The guides were very polite and spoke multiple languages. It's incredible to see these animals interact freely. There were also several babies to observe. It was a nice and quiet nature walk.

It was wonderful to find a place in France that so clearly cared about the animals in their care & where the majority of visitors followed the rules for how to treat the animals. We all enjoyed watching the macaques at close quarters & the small amount of popcorn you're allowed to feed them provides very close contact. The feeding... More

Paid a visit recently, unfortunately in the pouring rain which meant we didn't stop as long as we otherwise would. You are given a small handful of popcorn to feed the monkeys with and they are incredibly cute. Many sit on the low fence waiting to be fed and do look a little like old men! Well worth the admission... More

We took our two kids, ages 8 & 9 and we all enjoyed it. Took about 45 minutes to walk the route. There were some crowds so if we saw a monkey alone we took advantage and spent time with it. Very nice afternoon...

We have always enjoyed this site, but I am finding it ever more crowded. It is fun to stroll through and observe the macaques. That never gets old. Visitors are given popcorn to feed them. The macaques are very crafty and hierarchical about getting the food. We witnessed some visitors giving them junk food! That part was not so nice.... More

Took a random side-trip here after spending a weekend in nearby and wonderful Strasbourg - I was totally caught off-guard as to how awesome this place was!! It's not a large place, but definitely big enough to feel like you are watching monkeys in the wild. The monkeys themselves are hugely entertaining, and watching them interact with one another and... Monkey Mountain is a wonderful addition to a trip to France and was an easy drive from Colmar (about 30 minutes). It was also about 5 minutes from Chateau du Haut Koenigsbourg (which was also amazing). Upon entering the park we were each given a handful of popcorn and given instructions on how to interact with the monkeys. My 3... More

A wonderful place to visit. Very kid friendly and fun for adults. We had a 10 yr old and a 15 yr old and they both enjoyed their time. It was so peaceful and enjoyable just watching the monkeys, especially the babies in their every day play. I have always dreamed of being up close to monkeys. This place does... More

Its a great way to spend a couple of hours in the beautiful nature of the area, the kids loved feeding the monkeys and it was interesting to hear of the efforts to save this lovely species.
