The museum has 2 bases, one in Cornwall, which is the one we visited, and one in Coventry. This can mean that exhibits vary depending on what aircraft is where. What does make this museum very different to others is that its aim is to keep the aircraft flying rather than just having static exhibits in a hangar. Unfortunately we... More

Thanks you for the review on Classic Air Force We are a working museum - and occasionally one or maybe two of the aircraft do have to depart for an airshow. They do however normally return the day after. Sorry if you came on a day when a couple of aircraft were elsewhere. We do try to publish any arrivals... More

We were recommended to go to the ‘Classic Air Force’ by word of mouth from a friend and were not really sure what to expect. As a family of 4 with two teenage boys it is hard to find an event that meets all our needs. Well here we found one. The staff were polite and really helpful and the... More

Very much enjoyed our visit to this museum. Plenty to see and do with excellent collection of static aircraft and superb model display. Visitors also have the opportunity to take a scenic flight or even an aerobatic flight in one of the historic aircraft-if affordable. Enjoyed a very tasty pasty in the cafe and a good browse around the gift... More

Thanks for the great five star review. Our pleasure flights have become very popular this year with three aircraft usually available here at Newquay. Thanks also for commenting on the new shop and cafe. We are getting some great comments from visitors enjoying a coffee - or snack whilst visiting the museum. We are still evolving and we have some... More

Very friendly staff turn this from an interesting museum into an excellent one. Endless patience answering kids' questions. And an interesting array of (working) vintage planes.

really enjoyed our visit to this museum. Lots to see and do. Any aircraft lover will be thrilled and those just curious will love their day out too. The model display is a must, hundreds of models in beautiful condition displayed in show cases so kept in pristine condition. You can sit in the pilots seat of a jet or... More

Many thanks for your five star review. The model room exhibits an incredible display of over 1000 models. All are very well presented and visitors often comment on this part of the museum. The static aircraft are a really good display, as visitors are welcomed to walk in a couple of the aircraft. Thanks also for mentioning our fantastic volunteer... More

My wife and I loved every minute of this evolving living museum, the staff were really friendly and the admission prices go towards a good cause, one suggestion maybe is to have a sign on the plane escorted tour, we saw the chain and initially thought access was'nt allowed, then another visitor told us to wait at the bottom of... Thank for the fantastic Five star review. We are delighted that yourself and your wife enjoyed your experience here at Classic Air Force. The point raised about the chain. When a current tour is taking place, we put the chain across so people do not walk into the tour half way through. By keeping manageable numbers on the aircraft at... More

I must confess some self interest here having been a volunteer steward at Brooklands and Tangmere on the aviation side. First do not be confused by your sat-nav this is on the old RAF part of the airfield about 2 miles from the civil part. Fortunately local information had warned me of this so it was easy to reach by... More

Firstly, thank you for your excellent and informative five star review. Re our location. Yes - we are situated in the former RAF St Mawgan hangar 404. Our hangar has an amazing history, and we are hugely proud of our connection to the base. Our collection is a varied and interesting mix of aircraft as you have listed. Our cafe... More

We booked to go on the dragon rapide as a surprise for our mum's 50th to see the sights of Newquay from the sky. We chose the north trip. Unfortunately, on the original day booked there was something wrong with the ignition. Classic airforce rang in advance to let us know and kept us informed of when we would be... More

A bit expensive but then I suppose planes are expensive things. Smaller than expected but simulator was fun but extra £3 each. Scenic flights very pricey.

We made the decision to visit this attraction on a rainy day as it states it is an all weather attraction. We found it fairly easily as it is well signed and has a good sized free car park. On initial entry to the hanger we thought ‘is this it’? Just goes to show how first impressions can be wrong!... More

Thank you for reviewing Classic Air Force with a five star review. Thanks also for mentioning our cinema - which has some really interesting footage and information on some amazing classic aircraft.
