The Gardens are worth the fee to enter. They were huge and offered many places to get amazing pictures. I even got a close up of the Peacock. The last sectin of the garden was the best with the cloms and view of the castle in the background.

This was an add on for our recent visit to Victoria. It was a good one.
It is a short trip north and west of Victoria. The castle is now part of Royal Roads University and is used for classes. We did not go through the castle building itself but we visisted the gardens there.

We just went for the gardens and they are quite pretty. Oddly enough the garden, even though we went in Spring, wasn't blooming. But the quiet paths, the beautiful lake, the gorgeous views, all came together to create a very relaxing experience.
X-men fan or just love old architecture and amazing gardens. This place is so beautiful, I wish I could live there or have an extended stay. Don't miss this place if you come to Victoria. Call in advance for reservations.

Very impressive building , furnishings & grounds . Tour guide very good & able to answer all questions asked of her & there were many !
We visited here today and were very impressed! The castle is part of the University and they use it for classes so you can't tour the 40 room mansion... but it still worth a visit. The building is old and very stately and the grounds are well kept. There is paid parking but for around $1 an hour it is...

Great care has been taken to save its origional beauty. It in excellent condtion. We attended a Christmas function there that was magical - elegant food, music on a big piano, magnificant christmas tree. Could have been 100 years ago!
I Like the craftsmanship of the old wood workers back in the day when most of it was done by hand tools.Wall to wall wood inside and not one piece of MDF to be found.
We took our grandchildren when we had them for Spring Break. Wanted to wear them out. We all got wore out. Our grand children pretended they were the Princess and Prince and had a marvelous time on the ground of the castle. We took our picnic lunch. Was a whole day well spent.
