Jorge (George) was our guide. Excellent, thoughtful person who was tickled to get our tip; and to join us in enjoying gum during our return trip. The four of us had our own chair-seat, which could turn from one side to the other. Jorge was adept at spotting birds and knew the English names of all we saw. The flamingos... More

This ended up to be a trip of a lifetime. We booked a photo and flamingo tour which I would recommend. We had Paco for a guide and he was amazing! He knew so much about the area, birds, and crocodiles. He approached all wildlife in a calm manner as not to scare anything. He had a gentle manner and... More

We decided to start our Yucatan adventure with a two-day visit to Rio Lagartos and a boating bird tour booked through through Diego Nuñez. We're so glad we did! Diego was great to deal with and the birding tour, led by Willy, a very knowledgeable and personable guide, was fantastic. Saw all the birds we'd hoped to see, along with... More

We booked the boat trip to see the flamingos and other wild life. We were not disappointed. This was a highlight excursion on a trip of several days that included Vallalodid, Ek Balam, Rio Lagartos and San Felipe from Progreso all in the Yucatan. It was also the harvest of the Pepino de Mar (sea cucumber) at both Rio Lagartos... More

Having had some other hustlers tell mesome rubbish and give inflated prices and try to push me into immediate booking, Rio Lagartos Adventures were a welcome and professional organisation. Two trips. Sunset trip and flamingo trip. Saw lots of birds, the guide (Paco aka Francisco) knew bird calls and told me about research they were involved in. They were collaborating... More

We booked our boat trip with Jorge Nunez with the understanding that our interest was focused on seeing wild life. Jorge arrive promptly as agreed and the we spent 3 hours on the boat spotting a great number of birds as well as a crocodile. He took us to several distinct areas frequented by different bird species. No we are... More

I booked with Diego over the phone, and when I arrived there was some confusion. The guys sorted it very quickly and made sure I was happy. Francisco, "Paco" was very helpful with all my questions. The room was close and clean & the food in the restaurant good. The bird watching trip was booked for sunrise, and still one... More

We did both a boat tour through the mangroves and a land tour for birding. Diego was very knowledgeable and knew where to go to spot certain birds, especially the endemics. He is also friendly and speaks English well. For the land tour, we drove around and did not walk much, but we saw a lot of birds. We also... More
