Myself and my Fiance stumbled upon the Rhumerie on route to Chamarel Falls, I'm so glad we did! The tour was very professional, you can opt for an English or French speaking tour guide. The tour is followed by a rum tasting, the staff are generous and happy to let you try more than once to help you choose which... More

The place has very good food and higher class than many others in Mauritius. Be aware that the tour and tasting itself is free if you have food - something that is not well advertised. Located in the middle of fantastic nature - well worth the long and beautiful road.

The surroundings for this rum distillery are absolutely beautiful. Lots of lush gardens and bright colours. The building itself is really attractive. We had lunch there which was delicious. Staff were really friendly and showed us how the rum was made. Following this we had a rum tasting. There is plenty of rum available for you to taste. A tip... More

Nice organized tour provided by the locals with knowledge and experience in making rum. The rum itself was fantastic, every single flavor of the rum and different ages of rum were really good. Chamarel offers more than rum, they offer a great experience and have other local produce products from their plantation.

Set in the foot hills in the south west the Rum Distillery at Chamarel is well worth a visit. Our guide (Yasheta - excuse any incorrect spelling) was really well informed and gave the impression that she was really proud of the place and as such wanted us to enjoy our time there. There wasn't any questions she couldn't answer.... More

It is a place worth to see and taste sugar cane products. Yeah I'm talking not only about sugar, molasses but rum. They have many flavours to try and enjoy. Go for coffee and whipped cream. It will give your taste buds pleasure to remember. You could also taste raw sugar cane. I never thought it taste so good. Lol... More

Interesting tour, although no Rum was being produced as it was out of season, they add video to show you what would be happending. It's a really nice location in the hills and I would highly recommend having lunch there too as you get the tour included. My recommendation would also be to not go as part of a tour... More

Second Rhumerie this week but definitely came out on top. Part of the south west tour, we thought it was going to be the same. This Rum is the next level. The quality of the whole site was fantastic. The product that is produced here is second to none. Although we didn't have a meal here, the restaurant on site... More

The rum tour with tasting at the end is a must. You get to try about 8 different rums that have been infused delicately with flavoursome ingredients. We went before breakfast! and ended up trying the restaurant for lunch, nice food but a little expensive.

We recently visited the Rhumerie de Chamarel as part of the scenic south tour with White Sand Tours. The setting is beautiful and not at all what we expected. We had a tour of the site where we learnt about how the rum is produced, followed by lunch at the restaurant. The food and service was excellent! We ended the... More
