The rhumerie is very small and cute. A guide will walk you through the different stages of the rhumb making process. The tour itself is about 10-15 minutes and the icing on the cake is the more than generous tasting of the different rhums they produce. There's also a nice restaurant on site and a souvenir shop where you can... More

Very nice set up, with the factory opening into the shop with lots of various size bottles and other gifts to buy. Taster sessions quietly enjoyable...although some of the rum flavours were a little strong!

This was part of a day trip around the southern part of the island and we enjoyed it thoroughly. There is a short tour around the distillery followed by the rum tasting which is good fun. They have a lovely little shop were you can buy rum etc. The grounds are beautifully maintained and the bathrooms clean. If your guide... More

The lunch we had here was excellent. The tour isn't very long as the factory is only small but our guide Vanessa was very... More

Great little tour with loads of rum to sample at the end. Ate in the restaurant after which was delicious. Worth a visit but don't use a whole day. Combine with a visit to seven coloured sands to make the most of it.

Had a stop here on the way to the coloured sands. The distillery is set in beautiful grounds just outside Chamarel...the tour is quite brief (a lovely young guide, but with a quiet voice and accent that did not carry over the machinery noise). However, when it came to the tasting...there are 7 rums to try...and when your partner and her... More

My wife & I visited Rhumerie de Chamarel during our visit of the South. What an awesome experience. The rhumerie was well maintained all around i.e. toilets, grounds etc. The entry fee was Rs350 each & you get a guided tour + a good few rum tasters :) While the rhumerie is not huge it was still an enjoyable experience...
