We visited the Rhumerie with the benefit of a car and driver, which meant we could both sample the wares! It is a relatively new venture, and very well laid out, from the moment you drive off the road into the premises. Tours in various languages are provided, and the rhumerie is laid out with visitors in mind, showing you... More

cost rs370 per person for a visit and rhum tasting. it is basically a 15 min tour and there is not much to see. very small and tiny. rhum tasting is not that bad though. you can do much more with rs 370 in mauritius...

An interesting trip around the rum making process followed by a tasting. The shop seemed rather expensive - more like a malt whisky price.

Very interesting and entry inc a tour guide in English and small tastings of each of the rum's. I would give the restaurant a miss and go to Le Chamarel restaurant down the road for the fab views and good food. Free parking and accessible via the 5A bus

We visited Rhumerie de Chamarel as part of an island tour. The place is amazing! You get a real insight into how the rum is made and processed. A stunning place. The rum tasting was great too. We also had lunch there and the food was fantastic. Well worth a visit and the products you can buy there are really... More

The rhumerie was very nice-small and neat with cheerful guides who explain the whole rum making process in great detail. Of course the tasting was the best part and they also have a shop where you can buy the rum cheaper than from the duty free. So I definitely recommend the rhumerie if you are visiting the area.

Our private tour guide recommended this experience to us. The private tour was good and informative, recommend to go earlier in the day, we got there at 4 ish pm and the factory stops at 3 so we were unable to see it in action. At the end they take you into a room for rum tasting, although it was... More

It's a different experience to know about rum factory. They will explain you about the process of making rum and let you taste it.I would suggest if you liked the rum buy from the factory itself as they are cheap. In the beginning they will also explain about vanilla plantation which is quite interesting. Do pay a visit if you... More

We visited twice during our stay in Mauritius. On the first occasion we partook in the excellent and informative tour followed by ample tastings of their rums and liqueurs. The staff were wonderful and smiley, and the setting is fantastic. The restaurant looked good so we returned a few days later and had a lovely three-course lunch with drinks, and... More
