Amazing experience. If you are anywhere nearby I suggest you take the time to visit. The wallis a tough walk, so you will need to be prepared for many steps and lots of miles. Well worth it for the view and to experience this treasure.

On this trip we arrived via cruise ship at the modern cruise terminal near Tianjin China for an over-night stay. Most of our fellow cruise-mates had opted to travel to Beijing to see the Great Wall sections just north of that city (2.5 to 3 hrs. drive time from cruise terminal to Beijing plus 1 hr.+ drive to Great Wall).... The section of the Great Wall near the village of Huangyaguan is at least two hours from Beijing and is therefore not normally visited by tourists from overseas. However in 1999 the first Great Wall Marathon occurred and it incorporated this section of the Great Wall.
