Beautiful scenery with easy access for those on tour buses and also options for individual hikers to get away from it all. Not easy to reach, which may help keep it peaceful.

Language can hardly depict beauty of the scenery. Come and appreciate with your eyes. Best to visit in October, when the populus trees are golden yellow and it's not too cold. The tourists services are no mature enough though. You may try your luck at inns or eateries.

I was there with my son -21 month old and parents who are in their 50s.Find no foreigngers at all, and we were told this year have much less tourists than before, that is actually good for us, no too busy Lots of my friends have been there and told me not interesting at all, my believe is because they join... Absolutely stunning scenery with magnificent views on the drive to the park and within the park. Unfortunately the prevailing attitude of the locals in Aletai and the employees inside the park was extremely disappointing. Food prices outside of the park are a sham and the attitude of the park employees was very rude and indifferent. The only saving grace was the... More

The Kanas Geopark deserves a good whole day of exploration, as there are numerous scenic spots. The three areas ( Crouching Dragon Bay, Moon Bay and Immortal Bay) along the Kanas River should be hiked to enjoy the many vistas they offer. Give the Kanas Lake Boat Cruise a miss, as it offers nothing unique for the 1 hour RMB60... More

We rented a vehicle with a driver from Urumqi. We left around 3 pm. The plan was to spent the night in Burqin. From Burqin, it will be a 3 hour-drive to get to Kanasi. The landscape changes considerably from city buildings to the desert dunes outside Urumqi, then to the mountain passes into vast grasslands & pine forests getting... More

this is the last frontier in Xinjiang! access is hard and expensive. so, u should join the group tour from Ulumqi. it takes 4-day and costs about 300RMB(no meals) to 650RMB(including meals). foods around this area r expensive. so u should take 650RMB tour. tour include a lot of options. almost all options r not worth. but, rainbow beach near... We visited in end September and saw the golden yellow autumn foliage, very beautiful. We were stunned by the gorgeous scenery. The colour variations are lovely as there are are four main types of pine trees. Suggest to pay the extra CNY 60 to get up to the hill top to get a full view of the lake. The park... More
