We had been to the beach at night... Very dirty and unhygienic.. There are fish stalls, please do not eat there.
A nice beach, but poor maintenance, cheap food & shopping options available, lodging options available to suit all budgets.
Relaxed atmosphere. Overcrowded during holidays. Cheap food & shopping options available. Lodging options available to suit all budgets.
very poor. not at all maintained. over crowded, very dirty. after seeing velankanni beach i lost interest in going to beaches itself.
dirty beach...nothing to see except a huge line of shops selling cheap stuff at high price...and the beach is dirty - no other words to describe...
too crowded with dirty water - waste floating- lot of people at one spot - all kinds of waste found in the water - more over the path towards the beach with hundreds of shops throw out waste on the road and are blown into the beach by the wind, not good for a swim
I have been visiting Velankanni for many years. Hygiene has been one of the worst in the country. I always wear close toed shoes here as the mud has bacteria which gives me almost immediate itching which will take many days to sort out. After the tsunami of 2004 the place was wiped clean. Unfortunately the filth is back. This... More
Crowded and dirty beach.....But amazing view of sunset / sun rise. but still cldnt resist myself playing.....We all cousins jumped and enjoyed for more than an hour....
The entry point to the beach is too crowded. The beach is also a bit dirty with all the plastic and garbage thrown. Roadside Stalls, vendors, etc made the place too cramped. Waters were calm. Needs monitoring on the beach front and also on the entry/pathway
Gets better only late but it gets dark as this also is crowded. The little time during the sunset, the scene is worth watching. Amazing culmination of moon and sun seperated by water level.
