This place is just not to be missed! It's an adventure ascending and descending round and round inside the narrow spiral staircase with quite a big riser height of steps, but after reaching the top, the view makes you forget all the pain! The beautiful sea spread till the horizon showing the lush greens and the top of the shore... More

Not amazing but a good view all the same and you're here so why not go and take a look. The fee is small, about a 100R's including camera for 2 people. It can be added to a tour of some of the other sights and makes a nice change from the more 'cutural' sights of the town.

The park around the lighthouse with ancient carvings was fantastic. We spent several hours wondering around. Great place to relax and take in the wonderful surrounds at Mamallapuram. Well worth a few days in this lovely seaside town.

The lighthouse, situated the central monuments area along with Mahishasurmardini cave and balancing rock. I like the city view from the lighthouse. I had visited to this tower in 2008 as well.
