The Lighthouse - masonry circular tower of around 26m was built in 1900's. And during that time equipment were brought from England. The light house was commissioned on 31st March 1901. Hardly few people visit this place even though the price is really cheap. And the steps are really steep once you climb up and its more steeper on the... More

The view from the top is just about decent, nothing much to write home about really. The wait times for this were pretty inordinate to what we saw there.

Old people and people with knee problem is better to avoid going up as the stair case is Narrow and it is difficult when the people... More

It was a good walk for my parents at least. But it was fun to climb up the way to the lighthouse and get a lovely view.

A worth going place only if your can walk and run through steep stairs. Old people are suggested to sit back. A view from light house is mind blowing and will make you stop for a minute...Stay there and see how the light house worked for focusing at 17kms in sea... :)

You can get a good panoramic view. You can see the sea from the top & the sea shore temple. Nice photo opportunities. Its get crowded at the top. Try not to go at peak times. Or otherwise you might have to wait for a longer time. The ascent becomes slow as there is only little room at the top.... More

This is a not so tall light house situated on top of a not so tall hill. The view from above is decent. You can see the Mahabalipuram town with a green cover on it and the vast expanses of sea from top.
