Breathtaking view of the coastline, the beach town, submerged temples. Its very windy and a bit difficult to climb up numerous stiff stairs, but the experience above the light house is worth the effort.

Not a very tall lighthouse but the climb is a little tedious owing to the narrow steps and people climbing up and down the stairs at the same time. Not very safe for children for below 5 years of age as most can't negotiate the stairs on their own - especially the one at the very top. The view is... More

This lighthouse is near Mahabalipuram where you can see whole sight of sea Mahabalipuram temple, its very tall you are allowed to go top of it with a minimum price

not a tall one, you can see the shore line and miles away on the bay of bengal ...that is if you can stand there for a quiet moment. crowded with small place to stand , i doubt it can be enjoyed

This is a one of the most hyped place in Mamallapuram. The place is full of crowd starting from entry to exit. Not a worth place top visit.

WE had a ticket for the temples and it included the lighthouse - when we got there they started to insist that we paid again to climb to the top. We refused

I am not sure how many lighthouses they let you climb in India, but sure there aren’t too many; also, it is located on top of Mahabalipuram Hill, unlike most other lighthouses that are right on the beach. it is very beautiful light house, slowly we cant go to top step by step. while going top and coming back only one row with curving steps are there and no big space is there in steps last one more floor is very diffcult to go to top but once we go to top we feel our effort is worth.... More

One of the beautiful lighthouses in India, though not at the beach...this one gives a good view of the Mahabalipuram city and the various attractions too...worth climbing and getting a view from the top

Nice light house on stone all you have to climb up to watch it. but once you climb it you willl realize its worth enough the energy you have lost in climbing
