Due to its proximity to Navi Mumbai, its one of my favourite place to take a quick escape. Good to spend some peaceful time with your family and good for bird photographers. If you have small kids, you may not trek the entire hill to reach fort. you can spend some quality time at the base itself. Kids will enjoy... More

A great place for trek and bird watching. You should visit Jan-Mar as you will be able to watch many birds and the weather shall be cool for a good trek. You can take road or train (via Panvel) to visit the place. Do carry water with you but avoid carrying plastic bottles/ bags.

Karnala Fort is an ideal destination for trekking. We started at 6am from Central Mumbai and it took us little over an hour to reach the destination. Entry fee is Rs 35/- per person and car parking charges are Rs 100/- per car. Folks at the counter take a lot of time to issue the gate passes and tickets as... More

It was a last minute decision to trek to Karnala fort with my 2 kids - 5 and 12. We reached at Karnala bird sanctuary just before noon - 2 hours later than the ideal time to start. None-the-less, we decided to take the trek and it was an unforgettable experience. It proved a good challenge to me and my... More

I had not realized that the 3 km trek up on the hill to Karnala fort would prove to be such a challenge and an exhilarating experience at same time.It really tests your levels of fitness, endurance and perseverance. It is advisable to start the climb early in the day to beat the heat and humidity as the the day... More

We decided to trek the Karnala Fort due to its proximity to Mumbai. The trek entrance gate is just about 500mts after the Vitthal Kamat hotel. Entry fee for 2 persons + Camera charges + Car Parking costed us around Rs. 270. From the entrance gate, it took us about 1 hours and 45 minutes to reach at the top... More

The view from the top of the fort is awesome though it is a good 2 hrs to get to the top. Avoid raining season as the path get very slippery and becomes difficult to climb or get down
