We were two adults and a six year old. We did a day trip from Guilin to Dazhai with our guide and driver, Danny Yang (zzyangyang84@163.com). Although the distance is not great, it takes almost 2.5 hours to get to Dazhai, initially because of the speed cameras and towards the end because of the rockslides (yes, multiple, many fresh...) and... 6 of us signed up Guilin Tour with 100 China Tour GITS on 12-15 Nov 2012 which was very disappointing, so we engaged our own guide- a young, petite Zhuang lady from Guilin CITS and it turned out to be the best of our disappointing Guilin Tour. Though the route was rough and it was drizzling, Xiao Li kept us... More

This place is exactly what you think of, when you think of stereotypical Chinese landscapes. It is absolutely beautifull and eventhough the hike to the good view spots is hot and tiring, it's absolutely worth it! Don't forget to look into the water in the terrace beds, there are a lot of frogs/tadpoles (depending on the time of year) in... More

Choose a good season when its less 'touristy'! Take along a camera or a book and keep 3-4 days to soak in the beauty and enjoy local food!

It was quite a ride from downtown Guilin. I anticipated seeing beautiful rice terrace like shown on some China's tourism website but was greatly disappointment when I got there. We climbed up to higher grounds as the guide said we would see a nicer view but unfortunately all I saw was some houses n couple row of rice field. We... More

The journey there is long and boring. Toilet facility is limited and not up to expectation. The hike around the terrace is interesting and the view is impressive. I was there in December so it was nice and cool. There is not much planting going on due to the temperature. Take the time to walk around the village and see... More

Stayed in Dazhai village, which is still much less touristy than the better known Ping'an. Dazhai is likewise still not a destination for daily tourist groups, so there are really very few people walking the hilly terraces and you can totally enjoy them fully. This will not stay so for much longer, as a gondola is projected to connect the... More

Reputed as the NO.1 marvellous scenery around the world by the local people,Longji Terrace is quite beautiful in travellers‘ eyes. When I was young,I thought the Terrace to be the giant stairs for colossus reaching the heaven.Maybe at that time I saw the Terrace with no crops,I mean,it's bare.Later,I luckily view the terrace in green at summer.I know, they're not as...
