I have been trekking and climbing Rwenzori for 15 years. I have been up and around this mountain massiv 16 times. There are three companies delivering services for a trek in Rwenzori. Rwenzori Ranges Guides and Escort Association is operated by the people that was among the fist to establish mountain tourism in Rwenzori. People with a lot of knowledge... More

We went on a 2 day, 1 night hike. The park is stunning and one of the most isolated, untouched places I have seen, and highly recommended. However the guiding service, which was recommended by a friend but I believe is the only one available, was terrible, supplying food that was deemed inedible, charging exorbitant prices, and being completely inflexible... The park is incredible. Highly recommend staying longer than you are thinking, just be aware that this is Uganda and you shouldn't expect Alps Hospitality (you can't buy beer and dinner at the Huts). We trekked around the park for a few days and wish we had the time to spend longer exploring this unique place. The views are incredible... More

My boyfriend and I did a 3-day trek in the Rwenzori's with RTS in mid-March 2015. We arrived to the RTS base site where we had a briefing and met two other hikers that would be coming with us on the same trip. We had 2 mountain guides and 7 porters in total. The entirety of the trip was absolutely... More

Real Africa. Raw and dangerous but what attracts the adventurer to the best wildlife available on this continent.

This is an absolutely outstanding trek which we completed in 6 days. We unfortunately booked through the above 'organisation', run by a clown called Israel, one of the most obnoxious and odious individuals I have had the misfortune to meet in many years in Uganda. We had to hire some equipment from them, crampons, ice pick and harness. We tested... More

travelling to the Rwenzori areas is a fascinating experience, looking at the kilembe mines areas where copper is mined & looking at how the floods from the top mountains how they destroyed & moved houses taking along their path very huge stones which cleared peoples houses.

the Rwenzori offer spectacular scenery! unusually large plants and tough trekking. RTS did an excellent job of ensuring we all enjoyed the trip and were more than well fed on the trip.

I am just back from a Rwenzori trek of 9 days with Rwenzori trekking services. I have been trekking in the Rwenzori 7 or so time in in the last 8 years using both Rwenzori Trekking Services (RTS) and Rwenzori Mountaineering Service (RMS). I go there for research, but I also love mountain climbing, so I can give a good... More
