We did this trip mid week, up on the train and back on the cableway. Take the opportunity to get off at every stop both ways and enjoy the scenery. The Barron falls must be some site to see in the rainy season it was reasonably spectacular even now. We enjoyed wandering around Kuranda for a few hours and had... More

We travelled up by train and the back by skyrail and would recommend this as the view coming down by Skyrail is spectacular. After not being impressed by the village of Kuranda (very slow cafes, cash only places, busy, unfriendly staff, markets only focused on international tourists), we really enjoyed the train and skyrail. We were in a standard gondola,... More

Skyrail has to be one of the most fun things to do in Cairns .Cruising over the rainforest canopy high above the tree tops was simply amazing .After a fantastic day in Kuranda ,there is no better way to relax at the end of a day .The sights from the Skyrail were breath taking ,parrots flying under you ,the gorge... Excellent way to get to Kuranda sure beats driving a winding road, high above the canopy of trees we see butterflies and bird life we also chose the glass bottom carriage so we could see below us. Half way we got off and had a walk through the forest amongst the enormous Kauri Pines, nature at its best.

We parked at the bottom of the Gondola thinking we would catch the gondola up and train back - one of the tourist operators for the area turned to pick up a few people; he recommended to get a train up and gondola back, that way we could return when we were ready and not have to wait for the... We went for this trip last week. Left at 12.30 to avoid the morning rush. Upgraded to Diamond View with the glass bottom gondola which was really well worth it. Stopped and walked around at both stops on the way up. No waiting or queues to continue the trip at this time. On the last section, took the ordinary gondola... More

If you're visiting North Queensland you must check out the skyrail. It's a unique experience and well worth the money! Amazing views and enjoyable ride up to Kuranda. :)

All i can really say is that i was really uninspired by this - costs a good whack of money but feels a little off to me, many better places to see the rainforest, gondola's were nice but really what is the point... go for a walk and you will see allot more. Everything is very clean but apart from... More

If you like crowds and rude, bored staff then this is the tour for you. The gondola itself is pretty good. You get some amazing views over the ocean, although you can see how brown the water is, probably from the dredging to try and get cruise ships in to get people to this very activity. It is really cool... More

On on our drive from Port Douglas to Cairns we stopped to take the Skyrail gondola over the rain forest canopy to the hilltop village of Kurunda. Unless you take the train one way or have someone to drive you one direction, you need to take the skyrail both ways as there is apparently no public transportation that goes back... More
