Nice way to see the rainforest and we were fortunate to have a great guide. The gondola makes 3 stops and you get off and tour the rainforrest on the first and second stops - the last stop is the end and there is a nice gift store (of course).

We were very impressed by the friendly staff and the quality of the infrastructure around this attraction. Unfortunately, on the day we visited, the weather was more drizzly than we expected and so on the way back we were mostly in cloud and could not see much. But I guess that this was all part of the experience. Enjoyed the... More

Loved the Skyrail especially looking down into Barren Gorge. Amazing epiphytes in the trees. Great staff to help you in and out of the gondolas.

We booked a sky rail and Kuranda scenic railway trip from Cairns with Down Under Tours. I have to say I was very impressed with how well organised the day was for us. We were picked up at the hotel on time and everything went smoothly from then on. The sky rail is a bit scary if you find it... More

We have been on multiple cable ways around the world - so this one was not very different in terms of experience - except for the views - as you were for the most part travelling right over and above the forest trees. A good experience nevertheless.

Built without any ground access this marvel of engineering dishes up unparalleled views of North Cairns and the dense rainforest covering the mountains and valleys between Cairns and Kuranda. Over seven kilometres in length, you have the option of getting out at two different stations to do some exploring on the ground. One of these stops is at Barron Falls... More

We visited the skyrail with 4 adults an 11 year old and a 2 year old. We were very relieved to hear our pram could come along on the journey as we were going to be in Kuranda for a few hours before our train ride. Our relief was met with delight when the skyrail operators popped the pram on... More

What a relaxing and beautiful day. The views were gorgeous and the town Kuranda that you stop in between the train and the Skyrail is lovely. Lots of art and beautiful shops. The butterfly sanctuary there was great too. Great adventure!

We had a free day in Cairns so we decided to check out the rainforest, but skip the hiking. The gondola was really cool with views from above of the forest and the beautiful Barron Falls. The skyrail takes about an hour to get to Kuranda and an hour back, but you have 2 stops along the way to walk... More
