A beautiful way to travel from Kuranda to Cairns, or the other way around. Very interesting boardwalks at the Red-Peak and Barron Falls stations. A most interesting perspective of the unique rainforest

We were recommended to go on the Skyrail by a few locals. We chose to take the Skyrail and Kuranda Scenic Railway package with the Diamond view on the Skyrail. It was a great day in the rainforest. The Skyrail Diamond View was an interesting change and gave us a bird's eye perspective looking straight down. We also spent time... More

Even if you have no interest in visiting Kuranda, the Skyrail is a great outing. We took the Kuranda Scenic Railway up to Kuranda in the morning, and returned via the Skyrail in the afternoon after having lunch in Kuranda (lots of choices). If we ever get the opportunity again, we will go both ways on the Skyrail, as the... More

We went up to Kuranda via the gondola cable car and back via the scenic rail. Scenery was fantastic - great views back over Cairns as well as Barron Gorge. We stopped at the two viewing stations but did not take up any of the guided tours which meant we had too long a stay in Kuranda before catching the... More

Suggest a calm day if you don't like heights as it can move quite a bit when people move about to take photos. Make sure you get off and do the scenic walks very educational and beautiful scenery.

Breathtaking scenery, lush rainforest, cockatoos truly amazing. The boardwalk talks are well worth stopping for and the observatory is very educational. Excellent for the kids. Wonderful tropical experience.

We went up to Kuranda by this 5-mile gondola cableway (the world's longest?), over one of Australia's great subtropical rain forests. The ride stops at two viewing stations: a park ranger tour at Red Peak, and an info center and lookout at Barron Falls. Get out of the gondola and back into another at your leisure. Just magical. We booked... More
