The mahals are all locked. All that u get to see is the temple within the fort walls and walk on the ramparts. There is a museum of ancient sculptures which is worth a visit. The fort doesn't have anything else to offer.

Vellore fort has a temple, few shops, few govt offices, a big Banyan tree. No entree fee, not much to do. Locals visit here because of temple mainly. It is located in the heart of Vellore city and is worth a short visit. There is no entry fee. One can walk on the walls of the fort, which will give... More

This is one of the fort which we have neglected totally! This could have been a better tourist place had this been given focus. However, it looks normal fort but it is home to a beautiful temple. This is in Vellore town, so if you are visiting golden temple, make a visit here too.

One can just go around the fort in a car and see the fort. If you have come to Vellore, also see the fort. It would not take more than 10-15 minutes going around the fort. However, the temple inside the fort is really worth watching.

While traveling from Bangalore, I could easily find this place with the help of GPS. However there is no sign for Car parking so had to search for parking outside the fort. Apparently, there is a parking lot inside the fort itself, with the minimal fee of 20 rupees. This should have been great attraction with its history, if this... More

The fort gives an urge to come and see it from a distance away of the footbridge of Big Market Road footbridge. When you'll go you'll astonish probably. You'll see stone wall span across hectors as you heard and read in history. And as you'll go to explore more you'll see the position of guards that time in the fort.... More

The fort is good, and walking on the ramparts gives a good view of how things might've been in old times. However, the inside of the fort is used for government offices and everything is in a really poor state, very sad to see the heritage buildings treated like that. There is a small museum with icons which is quite... More

First of all Hats of to Chinna Bommi Reddy and Thimma Reddy who got this Fort Built...It is a true work of genius. Pondering on the masterpiece can take one back to the historical times. I presume this is one and only fort which has such a profound moat around it and a strong wooden bridge to cross the moat... More
