The fort is located in the center of the vellore town. The best time to visit is early morning or in the evening as the day time would be very hot. There isn't much to see in the fort other than the fortified wall and the Temple inside. The museum can be visited if you have some extra time.

This place is fine to have a dip into history.. Most of the place on the fort is closed for public use.. It's advisable to carry water as there is no shops inside...

A mosque, a catholic church and a Shiva Temple share this beautiful space. Its beautiful to walk around and very, very quiet a rare thing anywhere in India. There are many parks with children playing cricket. You can climb right up on the battlements. Theres lots of green grass to lie on and savour the peace.
