A small fort. Not as majestic as Forts in Gujarat but none the less a nice open place to walk around.

It contains temple of Shiva, meuseum by ASI, Dargah & even a church inside forr. No audio visual show or guide available. Lot of parking space is there inside. Ponds are full of algae. Place is wasted in spite lot of oportunities.

This was one of the highlights of our trip to vellore. The fort is a nice attraction too see and there is a temple there as well. Both items are free and there is also a nice area outside for a picnic with a view of the mountains. There are also monkeys roaming around everywhere.

Visited the well known Vellore Fort which was built during the 16th century AD by the Aravindu Dynasty of the Vijaynagar Empire. Later the fort’s ownership passed through the various dynasties like the Marathas, Bijapur Sultans, the Carnatic Nawabs and the British. The massive ramparts and moats have made the fort a strategic location, it was also known to have... More
