Visiting the Sripuram Golden Temple was a mixed experience. Once you are at the temple, its massive golden covering, interior and maintenance is very beautiful. However, the temple get a poor rating because of how it is managed. When arriving, you can see the golden temple through the main gates from the road, however, when you come inside, you're told... So commercialized place, people are treated like tourists and not pilgrims. Ticketing system clearly refers to business and not bakthi "Divinity" is zero in this place. Don't know why they construct temple for business. In olden days Kings and sadhus built temples for divine, serenity and peace. This place was built completely opposite to that. This is from my point... More

Despite the hot and humid weather, this temple is worth having a visit. Everything is commercialised here. Need to spend INR1500 per couple if you like to sit and watch 5 minutes pooja or else INR250 per person for being seated in front of deity for 2 minutes. Free entrance is possible and fuss-free during non-peak days. Nicely decorated golden... More

The temple itself is good piece of golden art and am sure it can be used in Kolkata Puja Pandals as a theme. One has to pay 250/- to sit before goddess.. else in general Darshan one has to wait for 1 hr in waiting rooms even if there are less than 100 people in total.. Moreover you can see... More

My 1st visit to Sripuram prior to the day of my conference at CMC VELLORE was planned in a very short time. Even though the temple endowed a lot of divinity but the rapid commercialisation by the temple authorities brought in doubts to my mind. Unnecessary Q has been created when free darshan was possible and Rs.250/- charged for paid... More

I was told by a colleague that this was a must see hence made it a point to visit the temple . It is very clean beautifully maintained . I agree that the place is commercialized but the funds for maintaining the place are probably generated in that way The right time to visit it is around six in the... More

We recently visited the Mahalakshmi temple in Sripuram in Vellore. The temple is magnificent and the deity divine. We went via road from Blore - Vellore and the road is fantastic barring a few patches and the tolls that put a dent in the pocket. The temple premises are in the shape of a star. The darshan is well organised... More
