The Seminary is located on a small hillock Rachol, village Raia, about 7 km from Margao. It is surrounded by the remains of a moat of a Muslim fort, green rice fields and lush foliage. The complex built by Jesuits way back during 1606 – 1610, consisted of a hospital, a school for the poor, and a college for trainee... More

Visit if you are in the area. Its located some 10 KMs from Margao. A place to see if you are staying near Colva. Can be passed if you are in North Goa or farther.

This place is a little treasure- but it really depends on what you are looking for. You get a taste of the quiet life and the seminary sometimes have a feni brew (from what I remember) Its a lovely little place and a scenic green route to get there

This is one of the places where you can find the origin of Christianity in Goa, India. Historical, having museum and underground tunnels is a must to watch along with the underground water tank which has dangerous looking stairs.

Nothing much to see in the Rachol seminary as most of the artefacts have been shifted to Old Goa. However the surrounding area is beautiful. take a ride down further to the end of the road to the old ferry point. sit down next to the river and watch the fish eagles and barges sail down the river. very peaceful

The seminary was a big surprise, and was less known by the locals and guides in Goa. Located out on the countryside in peaceful surroundings, the church and seminary still stands with pride - 450 years after it was built. It's an awesome feeling to walk around in the seminary while you get information on the rooms, the church, the... More
