The slow train from Nanning stops at Pingxiang . It's a 4 hour ride at 45 yuan. Pingxiang has numerous guesthouses , bus terminal , shops and good facilities for those that wants to spend the night if the border is closed at 7 pm . It's a standard 30 yuan taxi ride to the border crossing where the Friendship... More

Small place. Nothing much to see. Took me about 20 minutes to go through them all. For those not interested in the history between China and Vietnam, I don't think it's worth the entrance fee and the traveling time.

....with nothing else. Train drops you off in Pingxiang, and you take an automobile taxi, a motorbike ride or in the back of what is basically a tuk-tuk with some labourers and catch a ride to the border there! Walk up a big hill, sopend a while at the Chinese side trying to get out and spend a LONGER while... More
