I did a two daytour ''on the wallaby'', the first day our funny guide brought us to a beautiful tree ''the cathedral tree'', a short walk in the rainforest, we had a good lunch, and had a great swim under a waterfall, great experience! After a cup of thee and some fruits we went playtpus-spotting, to bad, seen non. The... More

We have been to the Cairns region several times and it is definitely worth a trip through the Atherton Tableland. Wether you go by car, which will give you plenty of time to visit the far too many numerous sites along the way, or take a day tour from one of the numerous tour companies, you won't be disappointed. visit;... It is worth taking time to visit the Atherton Tablelands area, which is readily accessible from Cairns. You could take an organised tour, or just drive through the area- it is straightforward to rent a car in Cairns. I suggest you drive there along the Gillies Highway from Gordonvale- just south of Cairns. This is a picturesque drive. The area... More

What an incredible time on the Wallaby experience, the first day I had with Sarah was amazing, swimming hole to swimming whole the bus was a blast, everyone getting involved with games and each other . The second day with Tracy was certainly my favorite, up in the mountains on our bikes, eyes focused only a few feet in front... More

Took the day trip with Sid and everything was great. Prompt pick up at the hostel followed by a full day of activities, fun facts, wild life, swimming, and awesome company. It was my first time in Cairns and this trip was great even if you were a solo traveller. In fact, I made a 3 new friends on the... More

Kuranda is spectacular but lots of places in the Atherton tablelands are very average. Maybe that's a good thing.

Once you leave Cairns and drive towards Atherton, you will have access to Kuranda and Mareeba, Tolga and if you have time, to Kauri and Lake Tinaroo. Yungaburra is worth a visit, the Curtain fig tree, a few kilometres out of Atherton is amazing, so get some brochures and spend some time on the Tablelands.

We booked with "On the Wallaby" tours and had Sid as our guide. Once everyone (no more than 15) had been picked up and he had introduced himself, he asked us all to share our names and a bit about ourselves. With the ice broken, unlike the other tours we had been on, we were soon all talking and feeling... More

I was travelling solo and decided to book myself in with uncle brians and it wasnt at all a let down! Cuz Rohan was amazing with Gus the bus. Cuz Rohan got everyone talking to each other laughing and singing as well as the odd game. Most of the people on the tour were young (18-25) but the tour is... More
