I have been coming to Old Leigh ever since I can remember and I love it, however a word of warning; If at all possible visit on a quiet blustery winter day or midweek in the summer and you will experience the true village feel. Once you find the smallish carpark is full you will undoubtedly feel like you are... More

A few run down pubs and some mud. Honestly, best go somewhere else. There is nowhere to park and you run the risk of getting captured by the CCTV van from Southend Council. Much better to give Leigh a miss and go to Southend. Better parking and more to do. Maybe try even further up the coast? Clacton and Frinton... More

Parking isn't great so be prepared to walk a bit from where you park your car especially on event days . Always try to spend... More

Old Leigh retains an essence of quintessential England gone by as you walk down narrow streets but yet still feel by the sea which keeps poking its head out as you go on your way. On none hand there are traditional treats to buy like cockles and mussels yet there is the greatest tea room with generous portions of homemade... More

Traditional pubs, kiosks, shellfish bars and old heritage centres all laid out along a cobbled stone street with cockle & fishing boats lined up along"bell wharf" and the coastline. Beautiful views of the estuary and Hadleigh castle. Great locals sharing stories and tales. Beach, tea rooms, restaurant and family pubs as well. Always prefer to be here in spring and... More

I love the tradition that has been kept in old Leigh, the cockle sheds and the friendly atmosphere. Always a good place to go in the summer.
