It is a good sight; when five elephants get dressed up and decorated as they offer puja/aarti to the deity. And for... More

We had an amazing experience. We were lucky to get quick darshan. The procession inside the temple with 3 elephants and beautiful music was quite mesmerizing

Good Kerala architecture with unusually small idol of the main God, Guruvayurappa with a smiling face. Don't miss the Milk dessert which is offered there as a Prasad. Men, as you know should wear only dhoties with or without shawl.

Guruvayoor is the abode of Lord Krishna, and visited by thousands of pilgrims everyday. A must see is the Seeveli function at night accompanied by elephants and traditional kerala music. The entry is restricted to Hindus. Kindly confirm before planning your visit

In November, we went to Guruvayur Temple for darshan. Temple is located very near to our Hotel Vishnu Inn.There is dress code for dhoti for men and sari for ladies. There are locker available at not very costly rates for keeping cloths, electronic goods. There are darshan times to follow. We got darshan in the evening @ 8:30 PM.

I had been visiting the temple from childhood for all kinds of occasions like chorunnu, wedding, thulabaram... I love the godly ambience here. Never miss the shiveli and always light the lamps around the temple.
