This place feels blissful, had gone with a friend there while on a trip to Cochin, Kerala...for most of the part you have a highway from Cochin so not much of big hassle....One thing to remember is that for entry into the temple for men, one needs to wear the lungi, fortunately they've nearby shops who rent the lungis...The temple... It was blissful. Parents and I went in Aug 2015. Just the right weather. Mild drizzle. Gentle breeze. The temple is very well organized in terms of queue handling. There is separate timings and queue for senior citizens - 5 am and 5 pm. The main entrance is only for entry and exit is to the right side of it.... More

Whenever I travel to Kerala along with my family , we ensure we visit Guruvayur temple. Most of the times it is crowded and during rush hours/peak periods it may even take minimum 5-6 hours so plan accordingly. The temple is well maintained and very clean, the most busiest temple in India.the temple timings are from 3:00 am in the morning to 1:00 in the afternoon and from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm. There are pleanty of Temples for Lord Krishna - the most people friendly god for Hindus Guruvayur temple is Outstanding. This is where Narayaneeyam was sung. It is a must visit place of all the Hindus .I have been here for several place. Sri Krishna is the idol here .Several hotels, lodges are available for the stay. You must visit once there as it is so divine place.

This is one of the best Krishna temple in South India. I dont recommend anyone to travel by Road because the National Highway is passing through towns and cities which is crowded with two wheelers and auto rickshaws as well as traffic.
