Try to visit the temple as early as possible, the later it gets, the time you have to stay in the queue, it will grow very big later on. We started on the queue at 4:30am. For elderly members, join the senior citizen queue.

Guruvayur temples main deity Krishna's idol is believed to have been installed by Lord Guru (teacher) and Lord Vayu (Air). This shrine is as important like Mathura or Dwaraka. In order to avoid rush (which needs deft planning !), we reached there evening of a working day. (avoided morning rush, frequent ceremony related stops in the morning, wedding crowd etc.,).... More

Guruvayur temple is a very prominent temple of Lord Krishna , visited by thousands of devotees.Even tourists ,visiting Kerala make it a point to visit this place. Unless you carefully time it you may face long serpentine queues to get a darshan. When we visited during last week of October, prior to Sabarimala season everything was manageable and entry was smooth.... More
