Ranks atop the tree amongst the big 3 forts of Nizwa, Bahla and Jabrin. Beautifully presented, sensitively refurbished, informative, user friendly, and a delight to wander around. Would strongly recommend you visit if you find yourself in the area as its only 5 km from Bahla anwyay, If you only have time to visit one fort in this district then... More

This should be on everyone's itinerary in Oman. The castle is fascinating and even held the attention of our 8 year old for two hours. The audio guide gives a little bit of the background to make the visit more interesting. Unlike other forts in the area, Jabrin has furniture in all of the rooms to make the rooms come... More

This fort is located a short distance from Nizwa so can easily be combined with a visit to Nizwa fort on the same day. Jabrin fort gives a much more detailed insight into the history and lifestyle of Oman in the past. Each room has been beautifully decorated with artefacts, furniture and furnishings and many have exquisite painted ceilings. When... More

I went to this fort as part of a shore excursion from Muscat Oman. It is about a two hour drive from the Muscat port. The fort has been restored and has been decorated to give one the sense of what it would be like to live in it. There are wood ceilings that have been decorated with flower patterns... More

Jabreen fort is very near to bahla fort and both are near to Nizwa fort. Those interested in history can cover all three in a day trip from Muscat. The fort is very well restored. There are several levels. The entrance fee is 500 baiza i.e. half rial which is very reasonable. We were given a free audio guide which... More

This fort has been meticulously restored and decorated to recreate another world. Beautiful adorned rooms with artefacts, jugs and rugs, not to mention the intricate ceiling murals. Amazing attention to detail including mood lighting creates a photographer's delight. Audio guide and well laid out rooms complement the natural structure of the fort. Your only challenge is not getting lost: tip... More

I have visited many forts/castles in the region is this one is by far my favorite. It is a good size with many levels and rooms inside and one gets a sense of what life would have been like living there. Highly recommend if you are already in Nizwa or in the area. Also makes for a good day trip... More

Very well restored fort, entrance fee is 500 Baiza (ca. USD 1.3) and includes individual portable audio guides (available in five or six languages) with very interesting and well dosed information. Wander through at your own pace and spend some time on the tower roof enjoying the breeze and fabulous view. Very friendly staff. small restaurant opposite entrance.
