Dedy takes you on a walk to the vulcano. After a 3 hours walk, you come to a campingsite for locals. The tents are standing already, and some of his friends prepare you a good meal. After a (cold) night, you see the sunrise on the mountain, and after your breakfast, he shows you the innerside of the vulcano: lots... More

Before visiting Indonesia, we'd decided to visit the Bromo and the Ijen. From Bandung, we heard about the Papandayan and decided to visit it. It was a really amazing sight to see, one of the highlights in our holiday. Getting there is a bit hard. The road towards the mountain is the worst we experienced in Indonesia, and that says... More

This is the best mountain for first-time hikers. The trail is easy, not too steep or intense, scenery is extraordinary, it has edelweiss field, and the temperature's not too freezing. Tips: bring mask to avoid breathing too much sulfur gas, and wear closed shoes because the trail is full of small rocks, which are pretty sharp for your feet.

After a long and difficult drive from Garut - the last 15km or so were on very very bad quality road- we were rewarded with a very special volcano. No other people around, no hawkers, just us and the mountain. An easy rambling rocky track takes you as far as you wan to go up towards the crater. It's a... More
