It was drizzling when we arrived. We manage to trekked up to kawah emas. It was very foggy to see kawah salju. Without proper gear ie shoes, jacket, it was amazing we survived the trip. Be careful when trekking, some of the grounds are unstable. Follow your guide.

My 2nd mountain trip. Sure this mountain is ok for beginner like me. People said that the track is quite flat but to me its still challenging. At first you'll met rocky track, make sure you wear a real hiking shoes. The camping area located in Padang Saladah, took 3-4hrs for beginner hikers from camp david. In the middle of... More

As a newbie hiker, I would say the track to Papandayan is alright; it's not as rough as I first thought it would be. But then again, I didn't go to the very top of the mountain; and the whole hike from Camp David - Goeber Hut - Pondok Saladah - Hutan Mati (Dead Forest) - Tegal Alun (Edelweiss field)... More

Hike to papandayan is not so hard..just need to take a few minutes rest every times u feel tired. It s only take around 3.5 hours to get on pondok saladah, the camping ground. After taking 3 hours rest, the journey is continued to tegal alun, the beautiful Edelweis field. This is the best part of Papandayan mountain. You can... More

While I learnt that people in Garut and Cipanas might overcharge tourist and dig their way up to your pocket, I managed to find a local guide (not an official guide) who willing to take me for less by bike. I went up before the sunrise and was not charged at all at the gate since there was no one... More

The long round trip hike takes about 4 hours on the average. We started out from the car park and made our way to the Danau (Lake), passing by a rock strewn landscape that completely blew us away. But then the next stage left us speechless - we got to the Black Forest and before us was the beauty of... More

I went to mount papandayan for half day hiking when i visited Garut. It has many different scenery and it's beautiful. From the lavender to the sulfur all looks so pretty in picture. it's been said that the track is for the beginner.. it's quite tiring though. But worth the energy! I think it's one of the must visit in Garut

We tried to organise our tour to the mountain on our own like we always do on our holidays. This time it was a big mess!!! To get up to the last parkinplace we were FORCED to pay some motobike drivers to bring us up... We had to pay 50.000 IDR each. At the park entrance we were told we... More

We were four people who signed up for a private tour which brought us to Mount Papandayan from Bandung city. The tour included mainly a driver with a sturdy 4WD vehicle, the park entrance fee and the fees for our volcano tour guide. It was about 30 euros per person, which may be a bit pricey for this region but... More
