We travelled up from Frejus, took approx 90 minutes. Parking at the bridge over the gorge is ideal. There are a number of companies hiring pedalos and canoes but it appears that only one was renting electric boats. We rented a kayak and a canoe for an hour for my wife and two children and paddled our way into the... More

The Gorges du Verdon are absolutely stunning, with some death defying roads round hair pin bends if you want driving thrills and dramatic towering rocks if you want photographic bliss. We kayaked from the Lac du Ste Croix into one of the little gorges, which is only navigable for tourists for a couple of kilometres but it was a wonderful... More

If you like walking, it's a good place to visit. We decided to do the long walk from one end of the gorge to the other. The sign posts say it takes about 7 hours, we did it in about 5, stopping to eat. We parked at the bottom of the gorge and took the bus (6 Euros per person)... More

This is a must see and do when you are in the area. We hire a pedalo for an hour. The kids loved it. We saw lots of people on kayaks and electric boat in the lake and they were all smiling and great time. There were small water fall run nearby so many people peddled the pedalo to get... More

We went three times. First time from appr 1500 we drove the stretche. Since it was late, traffic was low and the light was wonderous as well as in the right direction for pictures.Amazing. We went back for a tour through the gorge, floating (montagne and riveira; 35 euro, appr 3,5 hours off which appr 1 hour floating at appr... More

It is something what is "must to see" place. It is impossible to describe it - you must go there and see it for yourself. Countless breathtaking views, wild marvellousness reefs, majestic eagles spinning around, roads glued to reefs, river roaring down beneath the rocks. It is nice but hard pedestrial route from Point Sublime along the river - part... More

We spent the day on a motorbike travelling through the gorge. Stopping off here and there to stretch our legs, take photos and grab a coffee. Weather was excellent. Warm and sunny which made the views excellent. The road surfaces and barriers are all in good condition and I felt safe riding on the roads.

The highest in Europe, with unique colour of water. Is great to see it from above ( around 700m) were we can also see the eagles. You can bath in the Saint Croix Lake and also padel into the gorges. Take care because now you can not padel deep into the gorges like before. In order to protect the truit,... More

We drove from Aix-en-Provence to see this natural phenomena - quite a long way, but well worth the time and effort. The gorge is stupendous and the views and vistas need to bee seen to be understood - photos can not do this justice. We did the full 360 drive and it took us a bout three hours with a... More

I've been there many times with my husband when we lived in Grasse. The views are breath-taking. It's one of my fondest memories of our years living over there. My husband's web site has photos (http://www.beyond.fr/sites/verdon.html) and one of our highlights was visiting the museum or prehistory. (http://www.beyond.fr/sites/musprehistoire.html)
