Took the 0930 boat from Le Lavandou to Port Cros island. Cost about €25/person based on 2 adults and 2 children. Some discounts are available if you have previously visited other National Park attractions on the mainland. 35 minutes of sea borne bliss, the Mistral had been blowing so there were some white horses. Arriving on the island is like... More

The boat ride to the island is wonderful, and you can immediatly get started with your tour of the island once you get off the boat. I advice you to wear good shoes and no flipflops. It's achievable but not pleasant. Bring your camera for some amazing nature/sea pictures and bring enough water for the walks.

This island is incredible beauty and solitude. You feel like you've fallen into another time and place. The boat ride over is gorgeous, and the hiking on the island is quiet and picturesque. One tip: beware of the jellyfish in the water at the swimming beach. Otherwise, enjoy this incredible place as one of the true unspoiled beauties in the... More
