This unique park displays its attractions in an area of over 17’000 m2 at Le Bouveret, in a pleasant location adjacent to the shores of Lake Geneva, Switzerland. One miniature train enthusiast, having come from afar to admire this touristic marvel of lower Valais, confided that all the troubles of everyday life seem to disappear within the gates of the park. Only a child’s earliest experiences of joy can come close to expressing the first sensations of a trip on a miniature train. The little trains chug along as if by magic through a sumptuous decor displaying miniature replicas from the rich heritage of Switzerland: the Castle of Aigle, the Church of Saanen, the Halls of Neuchâtel, the Swiss Residence, railway buildings and constructions of every sort (bridges, viaducts, tunnels, etc.), conjuring up a journey into a land of dreams !

I have been there many times since I was young. Every time it is a real pleasure to come back. The little trains are very cool, and the trails grow up every year with new bridges, tunnels... And also wandering in there is fun, there are some famous piece of the country reproduced.

Took our 15 month old and whilst the train ride was a little entertaining for her I'm afraid the place is small and not very interesting or exciting. A very expensive 15minutes for CHF30

This is a superb attraction in a lovely location. You park in the Le Bouveret marina carpark (ticket machine just by Vapeur Parc entrance). We were only armed with Euros and had no change: the people in the Vapeur Parc ticket booth were really helpful and gave me change from my Euros in Swiss Francs for the car park machine.... More

Pretty, civilized and fun for the small, great attraction for all. Our 3 yo could not get enough of the train rides. Excellent location for some great photos as well.

Fabulous family day. Honestly we were a little under prepared - go there with swimmers and towels. Lockers provided. Great rides. Can lounge in the pool or even go for a dip in the lake. Food is ok - but then don't expect much at a place with rides

A great day out for kids and railway buffs alike. A complete railway and town in miniature with houses, shops, church and castle to see. Some beautifully made steam and diesel models running a picturesque route through tunnels and over bridges, helpful staff, beautiful setting by lake Geneva.

We disembarked at Le Bouveret, part of a cruise from Vevey, around the eastern part of Lake Geneva, see my separate review. The Swiss Vapeur Parc has Europe's most magnificent miniature railway layouts; this was an unexpected delight. It was quite busy when we arrived, so there were numerous different locomotives and trains to ride on. And the attention to... More
