Great for the diving, isolated with some beautiful and impressive cliffs. The horses were pretty, the little beaches (roku-jun umi) are cute and tiny. Great island to relax and enjoy the scenery. Unlike ishigaki, this island has very few tourists. Wild horses roam the island and the scenery is picture perfect where ever you look. There are beautiful deserted beaches (although a little dirty from the sea garbage) and great places to snorkel. The monument is over rated, but it is really worth it... More

Spent 4 nights on Yonaguni on a diving trip. Got to see the wonderful underwater ruins, hammerhead sharks, manta, and spend time with other like minded divers. Unique island with a lot of activities you can do. Diving (to the underwater monuments), trekking, horse-riding, sake-drinking ;)
