The town of Kotohira is very pleasant with several restaurants displaying English menus in their windows. We walked to the shrine from the JR Train Station. This walk led us past the old signal tower, which is set in a small, quiet park and along Kotohira's canal. Although it was a warm day, the climb up the shrine was not...
