Shirahama Beach is lucky enough to own one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Japan. Those who travel to Shirahama Beach in the summer, however, has no great pleasure of the beach is then fully with Japanese holiday-maker. My personal advice is to visit Shirahama Beach in spring or autumn. Then you have the beach practically by itself... More

I feel mean only giving this average score but it was nice even on winter day to walk around. I can imagine this gets packed in hotted weather. Not much else to say but it is spotlessly clean when we were here.

We went on November, so it was too cold to properly enjoy the beach, but the place is beautiful! There was some kind of illumination during the night, but it was nothing impressive....

I went there in winter and did not swim. View is beautiful and water is crystal clear. Fine sand and very comfortable to walk in sea breeze. Guess good to swim during summer.

I have a really good memory of Shirahama beach. People said this beach is a twin of Hawaii beach.. I never went to Hawaii but I can say Shirahama has everything of a paradisiac beach : nice sand, great color of water, good temperature... I went in September so not so many people around me. I bring snorkel and I... More

Beautiful beach, white sands and warm waters. There's fireworks on the beach every night! best beach I've ever been to.

The beach has very smooth bleached white sand. We visited this place at night to play fireworks and U can get them at stores just across the street. It was a bit cool at night in late September but I also don't see a lot of people sun bathing during the day. It's quiet and romantic gazing at the starry... More

Shirahama is known as hot spring area. We visit Japan on summer, so we looking for the hotspring area where we can enjoy the beach also. Its better that you staying at the hotel at Shirahama beach, so you can enjoy the hotspring with direct view of the beach. The beach have white sands, but no water sports activity, only... More

Enjoy sunshine, beach and beer in a relaxing day. Lots of fun because it is summer time. The sand is clean. There is a Daiso 100 yen shop opposite to the beach. You can buy some beach toys there if needed.
