My sister is on the island visiting and wanted to attempt snorkeling. She has been snorkeling with me at other locations but is still a novice and not always comfortable with it. We drove to Maeda Point one Sunday to look it over. She felt that she could snorkel there because it was shallow in the afternoon and she could... More

we went diving on 25/6/2014 morning with Natural Blue. it's a extremely nice experience, so safe. so beautiful. I was a bit scared for the first 1 min, but the coaches are all so professional. one coach for 2 to 3 persons, so you can figure it out it's so safe. our coach guided us all the time, swam in... We don't dive, we sometimes snorkel but we always enjoy great views. This is one of them. You pay 100Y for parking entry but you could park outside the designated area. Its not a big park in itself but its easy to get to the look out point for viewing. If you're snorkeling/diving along the west coast of okinawa-honto, have... More

This is a great snorkeling spot in addition to the walking paths above the cliffs. The steps provide an easy access into the water for a wonderful day in the water. It closes at 1700 hrs though so go early.

Delightful seaside park with multiple walking paths that take one through littoral vegetation and exquisite views of the seashore.

The drop off point for divers. Snorkeling possible but very limited and rather isolated at the bottom of a steep stair to the beach area. Not advisable for inexperienced swimmers. With a guide or group should be ok. Often closed for dangerous seas. A little shop and snack area. Lovely paths for walking about and you can walk all the... More

This is supposed to be the best snorkeling in Okinawa Honto, and I wasn't disappointed. There were many people, but most of them didn't stay long (many came on tours) and there was more than enough space for everyone. Lots of animals to see, including nudibranchs, sea snakes, eels, and a good variety of fishes. I saw several types of... More

This place has the most unbelievable snorkeling and diving. We snorkeled for 3 hours and saw the best ocean live. Highly recommended for first time and seasoned snorkelers. Gets crowded, so recommend early morning.

I used to live in Iriomote Island before, so I was used to swim/snorkel in a very beautiful sea, so I guess it spoiled my experience at Cape Maeda a little. It was my brother's first time in Okinawa and he loved though. I agree with the comments below stating that it's for snorkeling/diving only - which is okay with... More

This is a popular site as it provides facilities, including parking, toilet, shower and changing room and a safe entry point for swimming, snorkeling or diving from shore to the Blue Cave which is located about 100 meter on the right. Actually the Cape Maeda is very good for snorkeling as there are a reasonable variety of coral and sea... More
