It is a nice aquarium by the sea. There is so much to see...... The whale sharks are certainly the major attraction to us and they are indeed very impressive. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to visit the manatee and the sea turtles. Since we arrived the aquarium late, so we could only walk through the main building.... More

This is the best aquarium that I have ever been. This place is huge. The main building takes a couple hours to go through and just when you think you’re done, you find out that there are multiple other tanks outside to view. I spent about 4 or 5 hours looking around this aquarium and probably could of spent another... More

Be prepared to spend a whole day at Churaumi. The aquarium offers so much to see. The tank with glass walls give an amazing opportunity to watch the diversity of fish swim around the coral reef and especially to see the two whale sharks. The dolphin show is not to be missed and there are also hands-on experiences. A great... More

It takes 2 hrs to get there from Naha. The nice sceneries on the way to the aquarium will make your eyes busy so won't get bored. The big tank has alot of species to see. There is an access to the beach next to the manatees.

The long ride out from Naha to Churaumi Aquarium gave us an nice slice of Okinawa with cities, farms, gravestones on the mountainside and then, the beautiful ocean! The aquarium entrance from the top of the stairway overlooking the blue ocean scenery was a nice preview. The grounds were immaculate and as I observed all the play areas and fun,... More

All though this aquarium has some lovely exhibits, displaying beautiful fish, i was saddened by the turtle, dugong and dolphin areas. These animals have barely any space to move, and in addition, their life is just sitting at the bottom of a tank with no plants, other fish for company or any stimulation whatsoever as you can see from my... This is one of the best aquariums I've ever been to. It is huge and there are a lot of different exhibitions going on at the same time. They have a huge tank consisting of three whale sharks, and a few monstrous stingrays. Simply amazing.

Think of the aquariums in Monterrey and Atlanta; this one is on a par with them. I'd never seen three whale sharks in the same pool before. There are several educational programs, a theater, a touch pool, manatees, coral reefs and the usual colorful assortment of tropical fishes.

I have been to more than 10 aquariums in the world but this place is the best onf so far for me. There are many places that boast longest/biggest something etc but Japanese people seem to know how to amuse tourists. Having saud that, I did not go to manatee/turtle exhibitions based on other people's reviews. Overall I had such... More

We came here via bus tour from the airport which cost about ¥3,600. A reasonable price if you figure we rode the bus from Naha all the way to Motobu-cho (around 1h30 one-way). Being one of the biggest aquariums in the world, needless to say it was crowded. The aquarium is immense! It has many distinctive environments, sea creatures and... More
