This place is huge, I strongly recommends to plan at least 3-4 hours at this place. The whole experience is very well organised and it showcased not just the star of the aquarium, the whale shark, but also a rarely seen preserved "Megamouth" shark. In any aquarium in the world, seeing the feeding time one of the key highlight, but... More

Beautiful. I highly recommend a visit to the aquarium if you are in Okinawa, you will not regret it. The park outside the aquarium has plenty of activities to do.

A large and modern complex in an oceanside, park-like setting. Several buildings form this complex, the main building housing a comprehensive aquarium with a very large tank holding a lot of fish which can be viewed from many perspectives on different levels and closely (several places right up against or even directly under the tank wall). There are many small... More

The Churaumi Aquarium is a very nice aquarium. I hope i can bring my kids here again! Very big whales in the glass! i believe kids will love it very much! Love the stage of Dolphin performance! Spectacular with the big ocean behind it! Worth for the price, you may get 10% discount off at some of the nearby restaurant... More

it is not only big or different fishes. These guys succed to breed them for the first time and it took my breath away. I fell in love. Tours are quite cheap than travelling there by bus+entrance fee but tours arrive afternoon so you wont be seeing shows and it will be crowded by all tours. Also if you love marine life,... More

Yes, they have big fish and they have many of them, which is also the problem. If you're not bothered by seeing a small aquarium crammed with too many big fish and too many fish, then maybe you won't be as disturbed as we were by this. Maybe you also won't be disturbed by the site of children (and even... More

The Churaumi Aquarium is a very nice aquarium. We went to a few across Asia and this is one of the best. The crowd is very civil and the tanks are visually stunning. We spent a good 2-3 hours there and could easily have stayed longer. On the down side, the dugong tank is cruel and unusually small, so small... More

I love aquariums, they are stunning! But why did I not realize aquariums are as bad as zoos? Maybe because I can't see iron bars and obvious signs of unnatural behaviour. The dolphins doing tricks to entertain humans for dead fish is so sad. The outdoor tanks are small and exposed to the sun. The educational value is minimum and... More

Okinawa, a group of islands stretching southward from Japan, is the country’s equivalent of Hawaii. The islands have a unique indigenous culture andare popular for their sub-tropical climate, beautiful beaches, some of the world’s best diving spots and its incredible Churaumi Aquarium.
