I am a beginner for ski/snowboard and this resort provide the "kids' area" for the beginner for practice in a reasonable price. However, all the beginner routes covered by the cable car is not as easy as we expected when they request you to master most of the skills of ski/snowboard, otherwise there may be too difficult for me. Besides,... More

Nothing to dislike about Hakuba, we have been to dozens of resorts around Japan and this is the best so far, our 7th year in a row. Lots to see around the region unlike some resorts on the other Island.

This mountain is best for intermediate skiers/snowboarders. I am an intermediate snowboarder and it was perfect for me. Compared to the mountains in the States/Canada, the mountain is on the smaller side and I was able to cover it in one day and just repeated my favorite runs all of my second day there. So two days was perfect for... More

Probably best for the intermediate skier with a couple of good long reds and a little bit of gentle black, Happo-one gave us two days of well kept slopes - helped by lashings of fresh snow - and best of all virtually no queues for the gondola and the chair lifts, especially after lunch. For the less confident skiers there... More

This is a very good place to ski with a nice mix of beginner to advanced runs. Snow depth was no issue and its such a pretty place on a blue-bird day which we had on our second day. We only skied on one Sunday which was quite windy until they shut most of the lifts so I cant comment... More

This is the largest ski resort in Hakuba and the most convenient one! The run was fun with different levels. I was there on a cloudy day, so the middle part was skiing with low visibility. It was different and took time to get used to it. Compare to other ski resorts I have been in Hakuba, I think this... More

I've skied in Switzerland, France, Australia, New Zealand and Canada but the snow here was without a doubt the best I have ever experienced. There is plenty of different terrain for skiers and borders of different levels with many different lifts and rarely much of a queue. Everything runs smoothly and efficiently and it's really affordable. I will definitely be... More

Really didn't expect so many, long, nice and varied slopes - much better than Niseko. Almost like in the Alpes.

Lots of snow! Compared to the resorts in Canada we are used to we found it a bit limited in terms of the variety and number of runs. Best for higher intermediate to advanced skiers/boarders, limited beginner slopes if you want to go right up the mountain.
