The resort is good, but can be covered in two days, but there is other ski areas local that are easily reached by local free buses. We had too much snow which meant the pistes did not all get compacted, so lots of deep snow and fog to test the most experienced skier.

Good variety of terrain, cheap lift tickets, slopes not busy in March. Ski schools also very affordable for lessons. Plenty of good restaurants on the slopes for lunch.

Several slopes open in late April with sherbert-like snow. No beginner stuff open then. Not crowded at that time. Nice views, and Cherry trees blooming.

Some really great runs here. The snow was awesome. The only real let down is the age of the lifts and the set out of the lifts. They were slow, and mostly they are two seater lifts. To get from the bottom of the mountain, right to the top was a matter of catching three separate lifts. But saying that,... More

Staying underneath the HappoOne Gondola, I rode Happo almost every day for 2 weeks. I am counting the days until I can be back there again in snow paradise. Unbelievable snow. Fantastic runs. HUGE resort area. Views to die for. And memories for a lifetime

Well organized, slopes are nicely groomed, staff are pretty friendly even tho they must be overwhelmed with the foreign influx. Really nice how the different areas link, giving a great variety for families with kids at different levels, and real value for money on the lift passes. Rentals and lift prices are reasonable. The restaurant was well designed with surprisingly... More

We had a good time at Happo One, but it really is not a good place for beginner or early intermediate skiers. The runs are long and fairly steep - everything a competent skier looks for. We are a family of diverse ski ability levels. While we loved the convenience of Happo One to Hakupa, and the staff were friendly... More

OVERALL: Spent 10 days in mid-March 2015, and would definitely like to revisit for at least a week. Decent facilities and good terrain gives it good re-ride value. PROS: In mid-March 2015 over a 10 day trip, we had 3 good powder days (>15cm). Great terrain and varied with excellent cat trails, decent steep runs (though probably not true black... More

This is the second time to Hakuba and Happo One. If your after long runs and lots of powder then this is your mountain, great for intermediate and advanced skiers and boarders, although they do lack a terrain park facility. Also they have added a great area near the Sakka lifts for the kids to learn and play on in... More
