This is my first visit to Hakuba Happoone Ski Resort. The ski site has a lot of different skill level runs to meet different level visitors. Facilities are adequate and well maintained with good inexpensive restaurant. Of course, the most important thing is the snow quality. Simply great and you will not be disappointed.

In between Tokyo and Nagoya. Excellent total km of skiing is possible from the beginners to advanced skiers. There are many old style Japanese inn and some modern Japanese style chalet and hotels to choose from. Also great village for eating and drinking after skiing. Many Japanese style reasonable restaurants to expensive western style restaurants too. We stayed for 5... More

Being a bit bigger, it is easy to get away from the crowds and being higher, it was easier to find better snow on the warmer days.

Happo is a great place to stay - lots restaurants & amazing food. The Japanese people are very helpful and hospitable. The resort is easily navigated on foot or shuttle to other resorts. Skiing is mediocre. The lifts are old and slow. The ticketing system is a dinosaur - you need to get your pass validated everyday even if you... More

There was a massive dump of snow when we were there (around the 10th march). The place was almost completely deserted so we had the place to ourselves. Great place to ski, I will return.

Best ski resort, great long runs for both the beginners and advanced. Great places to eat and have a rest on the ski slopes. We have been to NZ and Australia and we rate Happone as the best

We have just spent a day at the Happone ski resort. I have to say after having a fantastic week skiing in Nozawa this was a little disappointing. Firstly I have to say we are only average skiers at best so we thought the green runs would be perfect. Unfortunately the lack of signage, the lack of groomed runs(none on... More
