I am studying Mishima, so coming here was a big deal for me. I'm unsure why anyone would come here if they weren't big Mishima fans. If you love him and his work, you will appreciate this.

As a life-long fan of Yukio Mishima, I couldn't think of visiting Japan without a visit to both Mt. Fuji and the Yukio Mishima museum. Fortunately, and clearly not by accident, they are found in the same locale. pleasant atmosphere, beautiful garden near museum. Exposition is quite poor, only photos and manuscripts.

One disappointment about Japanese museums is that they rarely provide detailed descriptions in English of what is on display. While the artifact explanations at the Yukio Mishima Library Museum were far from detailed, they provided enough English verbiage to keep me engaged for the best part of 90 minutes, and adequacy explained what was being presented.
