Anyways a great place to visit! Fishing in Hecla Village is awesome! Must visit the Hecla village general store - great prices on clothing!

There was a covered shelter on the opposite of the road, was booked but there is that for an option. There are a lot off outhouses within a short distance. Each group site has their own sets. They are not... More

My husband and I went to hekla lake view resort for a weekend getaway. It was a beautiful drive and the reception was very friendly and pleasant. Our room was very nice and had a huge soaker tub and sleep number beds, which we really enjoyed. The best part about the resort was the food. Everything we tried was exceptional.... More

The lookout tower at the north end past the resort and marina is great, good views from the top. A very rustic park that I am looking forward to camping at next year.

Spent a day hiking and geocaching throughout the park. Really enjoyed the the lake and woods. Had a picnic in an old quarry with some smoked fish we bought at the only store on the island. It was right on the lake and was really beautiful. Several nice beaches, but the water was chilly. If it was hotter out I... More

We biked quite a bit of this wonderful island! Long hikes if you were to walk. The island is a wonderful site, reminds me very much the Maritimes. Little Hecla Village is very cool to see but the interpretive center, and the museum (next door) is only open Thursday through Sunday. They will take you on a walk of the... More
