Summerville Beach has long been my favourite Nova Scotia beach. I know that others are longer and have a reputation for being prettier but there is something about the combination of sand, beach grass, offshore views and breezes that makes this feel special for me. Perhaps it is that as the tide drops the broad expanse of pearly grey hard... More

Great place to go walking and wading. Very beautiful. Some biting flies, so you may want to bring some bug spray.

I always love to visit this beach. The water is warmer than the water at the beaches closer to Halifax. It is also a very long beach that seems to be unknown to most. It is rare to go to this beach and find it crowded. The beach also often has a sandbar which, at low tide, creates a wonderful... More

This area has the best beaches in Nova Scotia. Summerville beach is gorgeous, as are the other beaches in the area. Worth a trip even if it is a little far from home. The water is very cold, but most beaches in NS don't have warm water anyway.

This beach is a beautiful place to take a family or have a romantic holiday. There are many options nearby for accommodations. The park is provincially run and there is NO admission charge.

This mile long sand beach is one of the best beaches in Nova Scotia and being a bit out of the way it is seldom crowded. There is a nice picnic park attached to the beach with change house and toilets. A great place to go and spend the day.

This whole area has some great beaches. Be sure to also try Carter's Beach and SouthWest Port Mouton Beach. The QuarterDeck on Summerville Beach is a great place to stay while doing the area beaches. We visit this area several times each summer.

I did not have enough time to really enjoy it but will be brining my USA visitors with me to see the whole area

We only get to Summerville Beach once a year but always enjoy the long walk on the sand. It has varying firmness's and the open expanse of ocean is wonderful.
