We had warm weather so the beach felt like somewhere in the Carribean. The sand is so white and soft but not good to build sand castles

This is a calm and unique place. Silver sand, very gentle water and a relatively still wind that brings a gentle breeze to complete a very special atmosphere. It's a long drive from many places but we'll worth it (we did 1 hr 30 from Fort Augustus (45 mins Fort William )) and rewarding. Recommend the coast road to Traigh... More

It looked like being in the Caribbean: white sand and transparent water (except the water was pretty cold, of course!).

Wonderful white sands, looks more like the Seychelles than Scotland. Great photo opportunities and young children will love playing in the sand. Tougal is indeed beautiful but don't be afraid to walk around all the little sandy bays. Bourblach is opposite Tougal and has beautiful areas too.

Such a beautiful beach and reasonable assessable. White sands just like the Caribbean but even in the rain a lovely walk along this world famous beach

Everything and nothing...we have been visiting Tougal for 40 years, and it never ceases to amaze us, we have been visiting here as teenagers, parents, and now grandparents

This is a stunning beach of lovely fine white sand and crystal clear waters. If it was warmer it could be mistaken for the Caribbean! Parking is on the roadside and limited, which wasn't too much of an issue for us as the weather wasn't great so it was quiet but I can imagine on sunny days it may be... More

Walk, ramble, gaze and enjoy the landscape, unspoiled beautiful Scotland, little midges of course, but tranquil empty landscape of Loch Morar and the anticipation of seeing Morag the monster. Just along from Mallaig, excellent coffee shops and interest round the harbour but in such a tranquil spot the weather makes or breaks the holiday.

Such a lovely place to visit and wander around, and only a short walk from the train station. There's lots of little walks around the beach areas on both sides of the water, accessible from the bridge. It was nice in low tide as it was possible to walk all over the sand where there would usually be water, it... More
