We've visited kirkley hall several times and it's always such a fab day out. Really reasonable admission prices and plenty to see and do to keep the kids entertained. My 4 year old still talks about meeting a REAL pirate there over a year and a half ago!! The Christmas fair is also brilliant, v well organised. We'll definitely be... More

Excellent family day out with plenty to do and would highly recommend a trip. We have visited Kirkley at various times of the year with a particular favourite of ours being the Christmas Fair. We'll be heading back soon for the Countryside Fair in May as last year was fab!!

The zoo here is not huge but really well laid out and plenty of animals to see, the fact that it is a college learning environment too makes it interesting. The petting area is all the kids are looking for. A previous reviewer was comparing Kirkley to Whitehouse Farm but really they are not the same, this is much less... More

Enjoyed the animals although, like other reviewers, found the site somewhat neglected and in need of work - appreciate that some work is going on but to make this a good place to visit and justify the entrance fees needs tidying and smartening up. Enjoyed the meerkats, lemurs, tropicals, birds etc. but again like other reviewers noticed the way some... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, I am glad to hear you enjoyed seeing the animals however, I am obviously disappointed that you felt the site was run down. You are correct that there is a lot of work going on at the minute which is why certain areas don’t look their best however, this is... More

Bearing in mind this costs the same as Whitehouse farm, it's no where near as good. Really over priced for the zoo area. You can visit the gardens, cafe and play area without paying, but when we were the thee younger kids play area was closed, with no explination (I think it's closed all winter). The other is to old... Again - a lovely day at the zoo. It cannot be faulted what the people who run and work at this zoo did. Expansion is on the cards. Spoke to Stephen the zoo manager about the new Lemur enclosure - that man has loads of knowledge and enthusiasm about his job which is lovely to see!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON... More

We tried to visit at the lambing weekend. The main issue was the lack of any adequate signage. We waited for ages at the tractor pick up point only to be told when we went to get on the tractor that we needed to buy the ticket from the Zoo. We had assumed that we would be paying at a... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, obviously I am disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your visit. As the event is ran through Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens tickets must be purchased from the zoo before you are able to go to the farm to see the lambs. I completely take your comments on board... first time here, we had never heard about before but it was a pleasant find. Both kids and adults enjoyed the animals such as parrots, whallabys and monkeys. We had great fun on the zip slide and the kids played at the park, where we encounted a very friendly peacock! The price is good and i can imagine spending a... More
