If your expecting something like South Lakes Zoo you will be dissapointed. This is after all part of the University. What you get is a small well planned out zoological garden packed full of birds, animals , fish ,reptiles and much more. Children can move to each area freely without worry of losing sight of them . The picnic areas... More

What a fabulous place to have right on our doorstep. I think this place has it all. I visited with my daughter and two year old grandson. Don't come here and expect a Chester or Edinburgh zoo. This place is small but packed with lots of different animals most of which you will have seen before. However there were quite... More

We all thoroughly enjoyed our day out at Kirkley Hall, but must say that it looked a little tired around the edges, and could do with some "housekeeping"! We also agree with some previous reviews that it needs to make up its mind what it is - a college or a visitor centre? But maybe the price reflects this! Nonetheless... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a four star review about our attraction, I am delighted you enjoyed your visit! I have taken your comments regarding the housekeeping and passed them onto the relevant departments so that we can improve this. We are primarily an agricultural college however, we are also an award winning tourist attraction, I’m afraid... More

Since having been refurb'd animals seem much happier with more space for them to exercise. Particularly liked the new enclosures for the lemurs and the "Australian" animals. As always the meerkats don't disappoint especially at feeding time ! Enjoyed the aquarium although noticed that there were still "plastic" greenery which would have thought was not ideal ???? The small garden... More

On the positive side, the charges for entry are certainly reasonable . This is essentially an agricultural college doubling up as an attraction. Some of the grounds are quite pleasant to walk, but overall this is all quite depressing. The whole place felt tired and run down. Limited number of animals in almost Heath Robinson accommodation. The orangery cafe sounded... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our attraction, I’m glad to hear that you felt our entry prices were reasonable. Obviously I’m disappointed to hear that you felt our site was depressing and tired. You are quite right we are indeed an agricultural college however, we do not feel that stops us from offering an... Great day out and excellent value - there were far more animals than expected and the bush dogs were something we had never seen. Add to this the animal encounters which were really interesting and informative, a great zips wire ride and a lovely walk around some wonderful gardens and along the river, we easily filled the best part of... Great value for money. Loads to see and a great variety of animals. Staff very friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. Could do with more seating around the park for less able persons.

At £21.95 for 2 adults and 3 kids. On a nice day, animal loving kids will enjoy it. It doesn't have the big cats and large zoo animals, but it has animals I'd not seen before such as the racoon dogs. There are animal encounters. You can walk through the wallabies enclosure where they have 2 rare albino wallabies. There... More
