Bought with Living Social voucher. Excellent value. Meerkats were so interesting and the baby ones very cute. Preparing the food was fun too. Have booked another one for later in the year.

Kirkley Hall has a zoological gardens with a wider range of animals but Whitehouse Farm is a more hands on experience offering more activities for children At Kirkley Hall we went to a classroom for the session on reptiles,we learnt more about the animals but the handling experience was limited to touching them as the volunteer walked around the class.... Thank you for your review, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with certain elements of our attraction. With regards to handling animals I’m afraid we do not market ourselves as a petting zoo like many other attractions. Here at Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens we pride ourselves on being an educational establishment so I am delighted to hear... More

We visited today the place was very busy, tables full of dirty dishes, floor covered in spilt food, the girl who was making the sandwiches used her hands without gloves or tongs to prepare sandwiches, take food out to customers without once ever washing her hands...very bad poor food hygiene..I would never come back here again.

Spent the day here last weekend and what a fantastic place for young children. It's not like those big zoo's where the animals are so far away you can hardly see them. A big plus was the perspex windows that allowed you to see the Meerkats at ground level so I didn't have to lift the kids up to look... More

Me and my husband visited The Orangery Cafe on the morning of the Northumberland Run. By 10am the place was heaving with only two staff on. When another staff member arrived she was immediately rushed off her feet. The three staff managed the queue as best they could but there was too little room and supplies to manage the situation.... Thank you for your review, we completely agree that the Orangery café has continued to get busier and busier over the past few years and we are currently looking into options for additional catering outlets. As I’m sure you can understand we are unable to extend the Orangery with it being a listed building and as the kitchen is often... More

When we were there a few people seemed to be expecting a zoo. It is great for children to see the animals and great for parents as lots of walks to tire the kids out :)

Great party at 10am March 1st. Excellent tour for our 7 year boy and friends. They enjoyed reptile handling in particular. Would recommend highly for kids parties.

Took a 9 year old here for the day. The zoo part was really good with plenty to see and an impressive array of reptiles. However, some of the reptiles tanks were far too high for children and although there was a stool to stand on it was far too busy so many tanks were missed - shame. There were... More
