This was our second visit here, a much better experience this time. We enjoyed a quiet and un-rushed dinner in a fairly romantic atmosphere. Very good food and pleasant staff.

Lovely walk through the village down the side of the hotel to the waterfall. We continued back along the river to Beck hole and then up the hill back to Goathland. Really lovely little walk. We took our two children aged 8 & 10 and they did fine.

Wow! I've been to Goathland lots of times but did this walk for the first time last week. It's a downhill path with some steps, fairly easy going. At the bottom are the most stunning views, it feels lovely and cool, really peaceful. I took my dog and she was fine but had to be carried the last few feet... More

As the title says, the food was delicious; however, for a bar meal it was very expensive. I think they probably cash in on the fact that it is the only decent place to eat in Goathland. We stayed in Goathland for two nights but couldn't possibly afford another evening meal there. I was a bit disgruntled that I ordered... More

This is an excellent walk for anyone in Goathland. It took 15 minutes from Goathland Village to the Mallyan Spout Hotel / Pub which is next to the footpath down to the spout itself, which is a small waterfall. This was a good way for us to test our kids walking skills, and the 7 yrs old managed it fine.... More

Visited the pub whilst staying in Goathland. Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. We also ate on one evening and the food is very good with large portions. Also nice to see a varied and extensive wine list. Would highly recommend a visit if in the area.

We went on a Friday evening and had to ring to delay the time of our booking due to other commitments. This was no problem at all. The hotel was busy and the staff said from the beginning that we may experience a slight delay with our food. In fact this didn't happen and the service was great. The food... More

Enjoyed a short round walk from Goathland to the Mallyan Spout waterfall and back again along the disused railway track. Ideal as long as you don't have mobility issues.

Great food, freshly made in a busy and friendly pub. Within walking distance of the key accommodations and local attractions.
