This beach was very busy with lots of people, jet skis and boats. Its fun to visit but I wouldnt stay here due to the noise. Also the planes fly in overhead a few times a day.

This seems a popular beach, particularly the southern end. Several hotels, including ours (Casa del Mar), have had to cordon off areas of the water to make swimming safe from the jet skis and other watercraft that abound. Without that I don't think it would be safe to venture in at busier times. There's a good selection of bars, cafes... More

It was quiet at our hotel end but was nicely busier further along. -best of both worlds. Beach was safe for swimming.

I've just come back from a stay in Langkawi. I decided to stay at Malibest Hotel, which is on the best bit of sand right in the middle of Cenang Beach, and the room we had was right on the beach. The sand is powder soft and slopes gradually into a mostly clear sea. Time for a swim then? That... More

Definitely the place to hang out with plenty of shops, restaurants and activities. The street is very long with plenty of shops (the usual kind you get in places like this) but we found it to be a bit duller than we thought after about 10PM. The beach itself is great although we only went to hop on the jetskis.

Pantai Cenang is not quiet and does not immediately ring paradise, but water is blue enough, sand white enough and cleaned every day. A lot of motorized watersports but not so much it gets annoying. Yellow Cafe is the best bar to hang out.

Cenang beach has plenty of activity for all types of tourists. Jet-skis, para-sailing, scuba-diving, nice restaurants/hotels. Beach is also well suited for families with small children. Clean. Few locals hassling tourists to buy things. No big complaints. Obviously there are nicer beaches in SE Asia and possibly in langkawi, but considering that this is a popular/active beach, it is in... best time to enjoy your time here is after sunset and enjoy a drink at one of the beach bar. During the day it's pretty crowded. Along the main road there's many shops to shop in and the duty free shop is just a couple mins walk away.

Plenty of nightlife here. Cenang Mall is ready but will help if stores can open late in here. As usual, parking is a hassle & grab the next one available; be prepared to walk as it will be best to hop into shops & restaurants.
