Really nice experience, It was a women only trekking through the dhoni hills to water fall, conducted by Bow Club, India ( facebook.com/bowclub.in ). We were a group of 12 ladies for trekking. We started from cochin at early morning 6:30 and had break fast from ICH kodakara, and reached dhoni forest entry gate at 10:15 (Got a hectic block... More

I had visited this place just before the onset of harsh summer in January 2015. Planning to go again soon after monsoons. Dhoni trek begins from the foothills where you need to get permission from the Forest check post. You can reach Dhoni by frequent bus services. If you are driving up, the approach itself offers plenty of landscape views.... More

The Trek to falls was more thrilling with snakes on the way and fear of a lone elephant who had destroyed many huge trees on the way, made it more interesting. What more would you ask for !!! A tiger ?? , may be next time.

Dhoni hills in Palakkad is popular picnic spot with a small and beautiful waterfall. It takes a three hours trek from the base of the Dhoni hills to reach this reserve forest area.

We stay close to this place for many years now. In our college days, there was no chain to block your entry nor any Forest guards on those days, we used to spent many Sundays in the stream leading to the fall. It is one of the best places, without any man-made noise or pollution. Building up a small check... More
