This was my third Southern India wildlife sanctuary and for seeing wildlife it was the best. Chinnar (near Munnar) was very beautiful and there was certainly fresh evidence of elephants and our guide tried very hard to find some for us to see, but it wasn't to be. We saw bison from a distance and the best was seeing some... More

We went for a three hour trip by the forest dept vehicle. The driver was very knowledgeable and the whole staff were very tourist friendly. We sighted sambar, chital, indian gaur, malabar squirrel and rare sight of a leopard cub.

I visited Parambikulam with my wife during the New year holidays. Fortunately, it was not too crowded. It is a remote and very serene place. We stayed at the Honeycomb complex. The accommodation and food were both good. The service was also friendly. We could see a lot of peacocks, wild(?) boars, Nilgiri langurs (black monkeys) and spotted deer. We... More

Great drive amidst the verdant greens and lots of birds on the trees. Not very crowded so its a welcome change from other popular parks.

We stayed in honeycomb and went for a forest safari in our vehicle. You can spot Elephants, Wil gaur, deers and few more depending on your luck. There are tigers in the forest reserve. But difficult to spot. Again that depends on your luck. There is a bamboo rafting in the dam water which is a good experience.

If at Parimbikulam opt to stay at Bear Hut, a watch tower in jungle about a kilometre from rxn. Stay awake at night check on jungle sounds. Try full moon. Not for family with children.space for two. Department run safari not a big deal. Animal sightings sparse and on luck.

We were at it again. Our -only ladies- group, this time we were eleven of us, did this forest stay in October 2013. All the spade work of getting permission from the forest departments of both Kerala and Tamil Nadu were done by our leader Asha. The rest of us did bit of web search to know about the place... More

The place is fantastic. Food is a small problem. Dam is beautiful. Journey is very thrilling. We met up many elephant families on the way.some people told us leopards walk about at the night. We stayed at top sleep.

It's a great place to see common wildlife like spotted deer, lion tailed macaques and some peacocks. But if you're lucky you might be able to catch a glimpse of a malabar squirrel, some indian bison, wild elephants, cheetahs and some tigers. Your vehicle can only travel until the main gate of the reserve. After that, the bus from the... More
