We perform guided tours of Vinicola Benanti during the week. We start with an excursion on the vineyard Monte Serra, which is an ex crater of the Etna. Here we have the Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio vines, with major part pre-philoxera and older than 100 years. We will continue by visiting the ‘palmento’ which dates from 1700. Following the tour there will be a local brunch accompanied with our most selective volcanic wines.

The Benanti Family had a long history with vineyards in Sicily, but one that had a temporary hiatus. Then the current members of the family took over with the vision of not only restoring the family vineyards but also bringing a new quality to old Sicilian grapes. We were fortunate enough to spend private time with Senor Benanti and his... More

One of my favourite winery on the Southeast slop of the Etna. Their excellent wines go together with freindliness, professionality and a beautiful set. Do'n'y miss the paintings collection.

We have done wine tasting and winery tours before but this one surpasses them all. The host was attentive, polite, well spoken, and knowledgeable. The wine was delicious and the food was impeccable. At the end of this tour, if you are hungry or thirsty that is YOUR fault. They are extremely gracious with their servings.

On the slopes of Mt Etna, the grounds are beautiful. We were there in September so the grape clusters were picture perfect. The tour was well done by the owners. We had a tasting of 3 wines paired with food. It was very good. We enjoyed it so much we had some shipped home. We received the shipment just as... More

An historic winery, one of the first to introduce Sicilian wines to the world. Lovely location, good quality wines, great hospitality. Run at this moment from the owner Giuseppe Benanti and his two sons...is one of the best in Etna area.

I very much wanted and anticipated a 5 star experience. But feel, due to the other wonderful reviews here on trip advisor, that someting was missing on our tour. Valentina is a wonderful guide, very knowledgable and sweet. When we booked the tour we were told that the tours are at least 2 hours. Ours wasn't even 1 1/2. We... More

Dear Dorita, thank you for your review. We respect and accept your opinion and judgement about the quality of the program. You may remember that , the day you visited, you were grouped with another couple of English speaking guests, who ended up staying with us longer than you did. Their experience lasted 3 hours. We visit the winery walking through the vinyard and receiving a lot of informations .The lady was knowledgeable and kindly took us to the taste room: Excellent experience with the wines and some olives, sausage and cheese. My husband as wine maker(for 43 years) loves to know more about each winery we visit but he was not invited to go... More

Dear Celita, thank you for your kind words about the winery and the wines. I would like to clarify that our Technical Facility, where our fermenters, vats, tanks and laboratory can be found, is located 2 miles from our vineyard, barrel room and reception area. For this reason, it is not included in our wine tasting and winery experience programs.... More

Thanks to Valentina we had a lovely tasting session and she taught us quite a lot. I thought that she was professional and knew her stuff well. My main aim for booking this trip was for my son who is really interested in knowing more about wine, and this has given him a taste for learning more.
