We perform guided tours of Vinicola Benanti during the week. We start with an excursion on the vineyard Monte Serra, which is an ex crater of the Etna. Here we have the Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio vines, with major part pre-philoxera and older than 100 years. We will continue by visiting the ‘palmento’ which dates from 1700. Following the tour there will be a local brunch accompanied with our most selective volcanic wines.

Thanks to Valentina we had a lovely tasting session and she taught us quite a lot. I thought that she was professional and knew her stuff well. My main aim for booking this trip was for my son who is really interested in knowing more about wine, and this has given him a taste for learning more.

I'll be honest, when booking the visit I wasn't expecting much, just the usual that one can get at a vinery when isn't a journalist or other wine business relative. The price also seemed high but we took "the risk" and this was one the best spent money ever for that kind of event!!!!! FANTASTIC!!! We visited the winery on... More

This was my first wine tasting in Sicily and I dind't know what to expect. When arriving I fell in love with the place immediately. The winery itself is a picturesk leap in history, and with the Benanti family living next door, makes the whole experience hightned. I recommend it to anyone going to Sicily. The wines are amazing and... More

I have recently returned from a fantastic Rick Steve's Best of Sicily Tour and am glad to say that I was introduced to the Benanti Winery. Upon arrival, Benanti family history and wine making journey were presented orally by the family and then we were escorted throughout this ancient site. We tasted several delicious, award winning wines accompanied by a... More

Sicilian wine tasting tends to go a certain way: tour, history, antipasti, wine. That's very interesting, but also somewhat limiting - I don't want to do it more than once or twice during a vacation! But if you're going to be spending two or three hours on wine tasting, Benanti is a great place to do it. You can walk... More

The visit to this winery was my favorite activity on the excellent Rick Steves tour from which we just returned. The brothers and their father have created a very special place on Mt. Etna. Luckily, the rain stopped and we were able to walk up to the oldest sector of the winery's vineyards and see the amazingly old vines. The... More

Recently spent a few hours at the vineyard, the antique wine press (palmento) was neat, the reds are good, the whites are "ok", a few options for appetizers (peanuts, pistachios, olive and tomato paste on toast, which would have all been fine for a wine tasting but it was a Christmas dinner party of about 25 people. They have no... More

We had heard from a friend the night before that Benanti winery is one of the best in the area. Unfortunately, we were not staying nearby, but decided to stop by anyway. Valentina greeted us and informed us that the tour had already left. We wish we had another day to attend, but we didn't. Instead, she gave us the... More
