I'm a novice diver, and I didn't do my research very well, this company was recommended to me by a non diver. I've struggled with myself in writing such a review because of the defiant responses, from other reviews, and lack of concern and disorganization I've seen and experienced with this company. Long story short I suffered barotrauma otitis media-... More

First off, the diving was pretty good with good visibility and lots of fish--we missed whale shark season by a couple of weeks which was a disappointment but we did see lots of the white-tipped reef sharks as well as several eels and numerous good-sized fish. Phillippe was a very calm and attentive divemaster which was great since I am... More

My boyfriend and I went on a snorkeling day trip with Scuba Coiba in mid March and there were some strong and weak points worth mentioning. We did something a little less common and camped on Isla Coiba after snorkeling for the day and returned to Santa Catalina in the morning. Because of this, we were only able to snorkel... More

In short: Great dive center in Santa Catalina with professional guides that put safety first and offer wonderful diving experiences tailored to the skill level and comfort zone of each diver. More details: My husband and I wanted to brush up our diving skills (it had been 15 years since we last scuba-dived!) and our 11- and 13-year-old daughters wanted... More

Dear Maja, thank you very much for the very positive feedback. We always try to make our guests comfortable and are aware that we have to work hard to earn our divers confience in our team. By the way I am from Austria. Hope to welcome your family back another time. More

The dive leader was really knowledgeable and listen to everyone in the group. The dives were very versitile and fun! Certification wasn't checked by staff before the dives though and the equipment and premises are super old and broken.

Thank you for reviewing us on TripAdvisor. We are glad, that you had such a good experience diving with us. We also want to express that we take complaints serious and have already replaced some of our rental gear. Knowing that the water can be cold from December till May, we are proud to say that we are the only... More

Scuba Coiba’s gear, prices, staff and attitude towards safety were all terrible. I’d definitely go with another dive outfit if I were to go back to Santa Catalina again. If you do choose to go with them though, make sure you have all of your own gear and are a competent diver. Quality equipment and diver safety are certainly not... More

I admit that a small percentage of people do not have the best experience diving Coiba or diving with Scuba Coiba (most do). But I do not recall any really bad day or incident or somebody extremely unhappy or upset so far this year. There also has not been any concerns with lack of safety or attitude or anything else... My wife and I did a 2 tank dive with these folks a couple weeks ago and it was great. Good boat, dive briefing, nice and relaxed atmosphere. We had some great diving conditions and were fortunate enough to see a whale shark and frog fish along with all the other usual suspects. As we are also both dive instructors... More

(I posted the same review on Undercurrent.) Our family took the standard three-day, nine-dive trip to Coiba Island, through Scuba Coiba. Prices and services seemed indistinguishable from Coiba Dive Center, the other operator catering to multi-day trips, but Herbie at Scuba Coiba answered our emails more quickly, and we were certainly happy with the operation. Coiba Island was an add-on... More

I took a three day/two night diving trip on Coiba Island. The dive was very good with a lot of fish, abundance of sharks as well as turtles, barracuda and a couple of frog fish. The best about the trip was however the service of Scuba Coiba. From the easy communication with Herbie to the preparation and gear check at... More

First, I have to agree with a large amount of what GB_williams wrote for his review "The good and bad." He gave a great description of the multi-day trip. I also have a hard time writing this review because I enjoyed so much of the experience and the people were lovely. But its a unique adventure going to this very... More
