We were in the area visiting Stonehenge and Salisbury and thought we would go to Wilton House, however we were disappointed as the House was not open to the public, apparently it only opens at certain times. We did wander around the gardens, although it was probably not the best time of year for gardens as not much in bloom,... More

This was a lovely experience! Great meet up with family friends. Was very busy but then that is to be expected in the easter holidays. The adventure play ground is great for all ages, and fantastic space for picnics. A very safe environment for children to play and our 3 certainly had an amazing time. The only down fall was... Smashing place, and the grounds have much in them, including one of four remaining historical palladian bridges in the world. Its an expensive place to see and not part of English Heritage or National Trust. Not good if you don't live near enough to warrant buying a pass. But worth at least one trip. There is an amazing playground which... More

The grounds are well kept and has wonderful woodland walks aswell, they lay on activities for the children at certain times of year like the easter egg hunt etc....... out door play... More

The gardens and restaurant are fab. The house great if you like visiting houses, once was enough for me, but they do now have different exhibitions. It's expensive to get a season ticket given its closed more than it's open...

One of the best places for children to have a relaxing and enjoyable day. The slides and Trampolines are very popular with kids. For adults, the walk along the river and around the ground is fantastic. You can also do a tour of the house, but with extra cost. If you buy a yearly membership it works cheaply. Once a... More

It's a lovely place to visit and the play area is good for the kids. A bit pricey but if you get a season pass it works out cheaper.

What a wonderful and peaceful park!!! Although we visited on a busy Back Holiday, we managed to 'escape' from the crowds, walking into the woods and along the little stream: what a lovely walk!! highly recommended!!! Do not recommend spending money visiting the house: you won't see much and the combined ticket house+grounds is quite expensive: £ 14.50 per adult...it... More

Had a last ditch day out before the end of the summer holidays here today. The gardens are stunning and the grounds very well kept. Easy plod around in nice weather followed by the kids enjoying the fantastic play area. Lots for the kids to do in the adventure play and the river for paddling. All the staff were pleasant... More

For those with a keen interest in English architectural history and art Wilton House is a place that must be visited and there are some beautiful rooms and interiors and the grounds equally impressive. Not to mention the helpful and well informed volunteers. However, you do get the strong feeling that there is so much more that you are not... More
