The views are absolutely beautiful and my husband and I had a lot of fun exploring the town and got our best pictures and memories here. Had to choose between this and the cable car ride in Medellin and I have to say I'm so thankful we didn't miss out on this. Just take a bus, pay the entrance fee,... More

It's 740 steps to the top of la piedra, where you'll find the most magnificent views in the world. Breathtaking, awe-inspiring. It's a long way up, so take your time. You'll see the lakes and the mountains, the verdant landscapes and lushness that make Colombia so beautiful and so special. You can stop at 702 but if you go all... More

This attraction is a very unique place to visit. Is located in an very nice area and the view from the top is out this world. You must be in good shape to go up 740 steps to the top since there are no elevators or any another way to go up but the long stairs. It takes about half... More

Ten mil is a little bit much but it is worth it. We caught a colectivo or jeep in the main square for 1.700 per person. It wasn't too hard if your in average shape. Great view. There might be some hooligans at the top being loud so it might not be too romantic for a date, but its a... More

This attraction is not for the feint of heart, and is not the least bit handicap accessible. However, if you want to visit a classic old style tourist attraction and view the spectacular nearby countryside, I recommend a visit to and climb up the rock. The climb is direct, your pace may get you up and down in 30 minutes,... More

+ :Almost everyone can do the 700+ steps. My mom and dad of 60 and 62 did it climb within 20 minutes. The view is to die for on a sunny day. - : Overpriced refreshments on the top of the rock. Bring your own water!

Excellent day out from Medellin. Taxi or metro to the bus terminal Norte where buses are leaving every 30min (about 10 000 pesos). They will stop you at the Piedra after about a 2hrs journey. Very pretty landscapes along the way. We were at the Piedra on a Friday around lunch time and they were at the most a dozen... More

I had reasonably high expectations and was still blown away but the marvelous landscape in Guatape. A long walk with over 700 really high steps but the view you get along the way makes it all worth it. The images will resonate in your mind for time to come. At the top you have a great view and some small... More

Totally worth going to when in Guatapé. After paying the 10,000 CPO entrance fee you get to climb 649 stairs (a decent workout!) in order to enjoy some wonderful views from the top. Don't go here if you want to avoid the tourist crowd...
