La Piedra is a rock jutting about 200m from the ground on top of a hill near Guatape. La Piedra is definitely one of the things to see around Medellín. The 740 steps to climb are a small price to pay for a beautiful view of Lake Guatape. The 12000 COP entrance fee is a little high but that's just... More

This place lives up to its hype and is absolutely worth the visit. After climbing up a giant rock, about a thousand steps or so (says it's only around 700 steps but you can go further up), you reach some spectacular views that can only be done justice in person! It is a breathtaking place to experience and should not... More

The Piedra del Peñol is definitely worth a day trip from Medellín. It's much easier to go with a tour company, as that takes the hassle out of the journey, but it can be done independently. There are about 750 stairs up to the top (no lift), but the view from the top is definitely worth it. Entrance fee is... More

This place is amazing! After you climb the huge rock (about 700+ wide stairs) you will get rewarded with the most beautiful panoramic views! There is no fee. Don't miss it!

Awesome day trip from Medellin and very easy to coordinate on your own. We took a taxi from Laureles (12000 COP) to terminal norte where you have to go downstairs to buy your tickets (12500 COP per person). There are many ticket booths but just ask for Guatape and someone will point you towards that booth. The bus ride was... More

The views are absolutely beautiful and my husband and I had a lot of fun exploring the town and got our best pictures and memories here. Had to choose between this and the cable car ride in Medellin and I have to say I'm so thankful we didn't miss out on this. Just take a bus, pay the entrance fee,... More

It's 740 steps to the top of la piedra, where you'll find the most magnificent views in the world. Breathtaking, awe-inspiring. It's a long way up, so take your time. You'll see the lakes and the mountains, the verdant landscapes and lushness that make Colombia so beautiful and so special. You can stop at 702 but if you go all... More

This attraction is a very unique place to visit. Is located in an very nice area and the view from the top is out this world. You must be in good shape to go up 740 steps to the top since there are no elevators or any another way to go up but the long stairs. It takes about half... More

Ten mil is a little bit much but it is worth it. We caught a colectivo or jeep in the main square for 1.700 per person. It wasn't too hard if your in average shape. Great view. There might be some hooligans at the top being loud so it might not be too romantic for a date, but its a... More
