In contrast to the quite busy and touristic beach coast of this area (Cannes/ Frejus / St Raphael) it is a nice quite environment to hike and enjoy nature. The area is quite big, has paved roads so biking or hiking is a breeze - however... More

The Massif de l'Esterel offers opportunities for some serious hiking over rugged and at times steep terrain. Going up to 450 m above sea-level, there are fantastic views of the mountain ridges extending into the sea. At times challenging with the summer temperature and the distances, the longer hikes do take you to magnificent places from where the entire coastline... More

Definitely get out their by land or sea and enjoy! The coast of the Mediterranean is sometimes cluttered by standard modern buildings but here you can still enjoy the wonders of nature

The Esterel Mountain range isn't nearly as well-known as the beaches here in the French Riviera. However, they are stunning in beauty as their volcanic red rocks and jagged peaks contrast with the dark greens of their cork oaks and the blue of the Mediterranean in the distance. Yes, there were nice views, but not that spectacular, though. Finding parking places for the car was also a bit hard.
