Owner description: This is the first Cistercian monastery that was built in Spain. The monks are no longer living here, but there is a beautiful church and the monastery itself which is an large, impressive sight.

The visit of the Monastery of Fitero is a must for any traveller who enjoys medieval Architecture, Barroque Painting and Sculputure, History of the Cistercians (Benedictine monks), or the earliest traces of European culture in gardening and viticulture.
