Robert runs a class A bike rental service and I highly recommend him for your cycling or biking needs while in the Dordogne area. The road bikes were more than adequate to get in some serious cycling. The bikes were in excellent condition and well maintained. Robert was also extremely helpful in offering his expert advice on where to ride,... More

Robert exceeded all our expectations. The Trek bikes were perfect touring bikes for the route, his initial meeting with us was very helpful and gave us confidence to take on the 6 day challenge of the Classic Tour of Dourdogne. We had booked our accommodation according to his recommendations and each hotel we stayed at was an experience in itself.... More

We spent a fantastic week in the Dordogne. Robert's bikes, tips and support were flawless. For those with a slightly independent bent this is the perfect setup. Choose your route with Robert's tips, book your hotels and the rest is easy. Each time we rode to a new hotel our gear was sitting in the room waiting for us. The... More

We've just finished an 8 day circuit in The Dordogne and we owe Robert of Aquitane Bikes a big thank you for helping make it a "best ever" cycling holiday. The prompt and informative replies to my emails during the planning stages from Sydney, the delivery of clean, modern well maintained bikes and panniers, his successful fine tuning of our... More

I (50+ woman travelling solo - don't speak French) took Robert's "Classic" trip (with an extra day in Les Eyzies) in May. I had a fantastic time - great food, friendly hosts and locals and many memorable rides (even in the rain!). The routes were easy to follow - just used my Garmin a couple of times. Although I didn't... More

We considered taking our own bikes for this trip, but decided renting would be a lot less faff. It turned out to be a good decision, and Aquitaine Bikes an excellent choice of rental company. We brought our own rear panniers, used Robert's handlebar bags, and found the Trek Hybrid bikes well up to carrying us and our lightweight camping... More

We had an absolutely fabulous five days of cycling in the beautiful Dordogne Region in early April, 2014. Some friends in Calgary recommended this region and Robert and Amy's Aquitaine Bikes Company. My Wife exchanged several e-mails with Robert, who was a huge help and encouragement right from the start. We felt like we had known Robert as a good... More

We just finished an amazing one week bike tour of the Dordogne organised through Robert from Aquitaine Bikes. The Dordogne has it all - beautiful scenery, great food, castles and world renowned historic sights. The bikes were excellent and Robert's advice on routes, where to stay and what to see took a lot of the guesswork out of the trip.... More

We are 4 Kiwis who hired bikes from Robert in September'13. His knowledge of the Dordogne area was invaluable especially his list of recommended accommodation and restaurants. Thank you Robert for a great experience. We are recommending your service to many biking friends. Christine, Gil, John and Michele

Robert was terrific. We went on his Classic Dordogne Trip which was lovely for the most part. He was responsive, thoughtful and went above and beyond with his attentive service. The bikes appeared new and were in great shape. So helpful to know Robert was always just a phone call away. The prices seemed a tiny bit higher than other rentals we... More
