We are 4 Kiwis who hired bikes from Robert in September'13. His knowledge of the Dordogne area was invaluable especially his list of recommended accommodation and restaurants. Thank you Robert for a great experience. We are recommending your service to many biking friends. Christine, Gil, John and Michele

Robert was terrific. We went on his Classic Dordogne Trip which was lovely for the most part. He was responsive, thoughtful and went above and beyond with his attentive service. The bikes appeared new and were in great shape. So helpful to know Robert was always just a phone call away. The prices seemed a tiny bit higher than other rentals we... More

My wife and I had three fine days of cycling in the Dordogne in September, using Aquitaine Bike's services, which were exceptional. Robert and I exchanged a series of e-mails to establish what type of cycling we were wanting to do (30 to 40 km rides, on quiet roads), and he gave us a very sound recommendation -- which was... Can't say enough great things about Aquitaine Bike rentals and Robert. Not only did Robert deliver the bikes right to our gite (and pick them up), he also provided suggested routes and sites throughout the area to visit. Robert also went out of his way and helped us when we were have trouble connecting with our rental agent! The bikes... More

I rented a trek hybrid bike from Robert. It was good a quality bike with a good gear ratio to deal with some enjoyable steep climbs in the area. Robert helped with route suggestions and more. The Dordogne is a wonderful region to cycle and to get the most out of it you need a decent bike which is what... More

We used Aquitaine Bikes in July, my girlfriend having used them last year. Robert and Amy were absolutely brilliant. Really helpul in dropping off the bikes (very good quality), setting them up and spending time with us planning a route. They were also very helpful when we got a puncture, which was much appreciated. We'll definitely be back to the... More

Robert was terrific. We rented six cycles for a week and he provided high quality bikes (some of our party are quite finicky). He delivered them, helped set them up, provided very useful guidance on routes and generally was a great resource. The prices are very fair. The only thing to know if you are new to the Dordogne is... More

An excellent trip - ditto all the positive reviews. Best part was the country roads with no traffic; absolutely blown away by how considerate French drivers are with cyclists. We had a small backpack that fit our laptop, cameras, etc. which fit nicely in one pannier. When we wanted to wander a village, we took the backpack and left panniers... More

My riding partner and I recently returned from our trip to the Dordogne. This was the third time I had rented road bikes from Robert- with the same great results. The Lapierre bikes were new, and in perfect condition. Robert sat down with us when we met to pick up the bikes to review new areas to explore and offer... More

Robert must have the ultimate one-stop-shop bike hire solution! Not only does he provide bikes that are mechanically sound and perfectly suited to the terrain, his knowledge of the Dordogne area and personal route planning service is first class. Four of us hired bikes to tour the Dordogne for 8 days. After the formalities of setting up our bikes and... More
