Took the bus from Las Americas up to Los Gigantes for the day. The journey is pleasant with plenty to see on the way. The Harbour with its view of the cliffs is dramatic, remember and take your camera. The restaurants are plentiful and reasonably priced with all sorts on their menus. Lots of little souvenir shops as well. Good... More

Picked up a hire car for 3- days in Los Gigantes and spent today driving across the spine of the country from LG to the cable car and across to the capital, Santa Cruz where we joined the motorway for the 90 minute return journey. A long day with words such as brilliant, exciting, fascinating, awesome, jaw-dropping, scary, educational, enlightening... More

We only walked there for the day but found it a very interesting place, lots of small shops, and a must was to stop at the harbour in a little cafe for a well deserved cold drink. There are many water sports on offer as well as boat trips.

We walked to Los Gigantes from our hotel in Santiago, it is accessable via a coast path and foot path and easy to get to. Plenty of stops to admire the views and get some shade to cool down. You walk upwards to Los Gigantes and then down a hill to get to the main shops and harbour. There are... More

The main attraction are supposed to be the enormous cliffs overlooking the village (town!) but once you have seen them you want alittle bit more. There is one of the nicest cake shops I have found anywhere but the star is the pretty harbour lined with cafes whwre you can wile away an hour just watching the boats and looking... More

Don't expect white sandy beaches as all of them are black volcanic and make sue you have swimming shoes as you may encounter some sharp stones while entering the water.

Perfect place to have a peaceful and quiet holiday far from the noise of Playa de las Americas. (Still close enough if you want to visit there...). Nice weather, wonderful views and not too much people. Not too good beach and not too much to do either, but if You want to rest lying at the pool reading a book,... More
