This is probably my favorite villa on Lake Como and the only one where I actually enjoyed seeing the inside of the house and not just the gardens. I arrived by boat (Bellagio water taxis) but I understand it is possible to walk there from the Lenno ferry stop. The grounds and beautiful and offer an amazing view of Lake... More

Found the place on the internet and immediately loved it. Then you reach the Villa from the lake and you discover it's even better than what you expected!!! The guide leads you around the place and tells you all about the interesting story of the Villa during the centuries. In the end you feel like you know the people who... More

It was an outstanding spot for our wedding pictures. It's a significant place you just have to see when you first are at lake Como.

We took the mid lake ferry to get here from Varenna... took about 40 minutes. Level walk to get to the entrance to the property, then you have two choices (if you haven't bailed out and taken the shuttle boat service for 5 Euro)... the panoramic walk around the edge of the peninsula, or a switchback type trail over the... The villa and gardens is a fantastic place to visit, there are some incredible exhibits on display which give a fascinating insight into the life and times of its former owner Guido Monzino, an explorer and collector. The views from the house and gardens are stunning. Recommend taking one of the tours, the guides are knowledgeable and friendly. The villa... More

Worth a visit, even in bad weather (on the other hand - not so many tourists). Take a ferry there to see Villa from the water, go by foot backwards.

The views whilst heading to and at the villa are outstanding and this is well worth seeing, however if you don't like exercise, be sure to take the ferry. We automatically had our names put down for a tour, but due to being busy we had a good look around ourselves and read the literature, and left before the tour... More
