We took the boat trip from Enniskillen jetty on the MV Kestrel to Devenish island. The boat takes a sightseeing tour up around the old town before heading through a lock gate onto the main lakes. The boat is well run and the skipper very entertaining and pleasant, there is covered seating and a small open deck at the back... More

We boarded the boat and it was only 10 pounds per adult. The Capt was very cordial and interesting. The island itself was only about 20 minutes away. The ride was very smooth. The site is interesting, and you can climb up to the top of a tower and look down. The whole thing does not take too long, so... More

We go there every year and it always grabs me the way people lived in years past. The way the buildings are built and how small they were to live in them and uncomfortable to our standed. The tower is well worth going up.

We had a delightful afternoon thanks to Steven, the captain of the MV Kestrel. He is a kind and warm-hearted man, very knowledgeable of the surroundings. A must-do in Enniskillen!

We had a lovely time visiting the island. The tower was closed sadly with it being out of season (so if going up is something that you are set on doing it is definitely advisable to check that you will be able to before travelling). Even without the tower though there was still lots to occupy us and our little... More

We were there third week of September with our rental boat from Carrick Craft. We had the opportunity that week to visit White Island, Tully Castle, and Devenish and be the only two people at each location. As I am an archaeology and history buff, I could not have enjoyed Devenish more! Very quiet, and especially interesting to be able... More

A canoe trip from The Round 'O' in Enniskillen had Devenish Island as the half way spot. Well maintained by the NI Heritage group the site is groomed and information signs help understand the history. A lovely round tower and more interesting Abbey ruins are well worth the visit. Either take the short government crossing to the island or enjoy... More

Happened to be in the right place at the right time, went to the Round O in Enniskillen and the Boat was leaving for Devenish Island at 2.15pm on the Tuesday we were there. Excellent, really enjoyed the trip which was also reasonably priced, The weather held for us throughout this time too. Stephen and Walter were great hosts on... More
